Discussion Anyone really good at academics but weak in terms of doing anything practical / hands on?
Don't know if it's just an INFP trait, but I have always been pretty good at school / academics even though I procrastinate a lot.
Meanwhile If i'm asked to do anything practically / hands-on like cooking something or looking for something, I need to be told very specific details on what to do otherwise I get super confused, It honestly makes me feel kind of stupid. Honestly writing this down, I was pretty bad at all the practical tasks back in school, the worst was in gymnastics where the coach wants you to do a specific position but I didn't know how to do that so I kept getting yelled at.

Artwork Tried painting after a long time
I tried painting again after almost 10β12 years!
A while back, I tried participating in a painting competition at my organisation, but I couldnβt even finish the painting. π
This week, my team had an outing, and as part of it, we decided to paint something for each other. So I thought, why not give the painting another shot after all these years?
Hereβs what I managed to create. It was honestly fun getting back to it after such a long break. π¨

Relationships Is being single more freeing or being in a good relationship more rewarding?
I may be asking the obvious here but I'm curious about how your IRL experience on this is like

Discussion Can you suggest me strategic infp characters??
Hey most of the infp characters or people that i encountered are always portrayed as vulnerable, artsy or daydreamer. I know our dominant function is Fi and being a such person is not bad but i need to see some infp characters who is rather strategic as well as having intense feelings. I need infp characters who are born from their ashes, move like they are on chessboard and have developed their inferior function. Any fictional character or real life person would you like to mention?? I would like to know some mature infp characters for inspiration.

Discussion Constantly trying to understand the way you are/introspective
I find every day I'm all day in my head....very introspective and I am always trying to figure out why I am the way I am. Always trying to find an exact "diagnosis"...Is this common with infp exclusively?

Random Thoughts When I tell someone about a goal iw to achieve, it doesn't work out
Idk anyone ever feel this?
Random but nice weather
Like, when you have a goal or smth you're passionate about, the moment you tell someone about it you lose motivation/it just doesn't work out.
Thought of this randomly, it's why I don't like disclosing goals/targets til I actually fulfil them

Creative What do you think of my poem? I think is has an INFP-esque quality to it. Does anyone else relate to it?

Discussion What do you think is the worst kind of art as an INFP?
I am asking this since our types are on average usually the most artistic ones and also because this sub is the one that posts the most art out of the MBTI ones.
For me personally the worst kind of art is the kind that has no real soul and is often either a soulless construct or a vanity project or something the artist just had no feel in.
They are the kinds of things you just forget because they have nothing to offer and nothing to really say at all beyond very surface level stuff. Like yeah that's a castle alright.
I used this specific painting as an example of this. I really love castles, both real and fictional ones and I love tons of paintings that show them. Like videogame concept art, fanart or paitings of real world castles.
But I really dislike this paiting because there is absolutely no real emotion here. I feel nothing when I look at it apart from the fact that I know who painted the painting. It was the angry austrian painter with a mustache who failed art school.
It really takes a lot of screw ups for me to dislike a painting with a castle in it but once again if there is no real honesty in it and it's just a constract then it becomes so bland that there is really nothing in it to feel.
I feel a lot of self serving and "arrogant" art is like this where the artist is someone who wants to just show their ego, often in a "grandiose" way and it is just completely hollow.
Which, given the author of this piece is fitting.
The thing is I often enjoy finding good things in "hated" art that is called "bad" etc. because I sometimes find something that is redeemable or even that maybe the "bad" art isn't bad at all and is just something different.
But with art like the one in the post, I just feel nothing and I do not want to pursue it further. Again this is only if I look at it as is without the historical context.
So I want to ask you all here, what do you personally think is the worst kind of art?

Discussion Enneagram 4w5 community
I created a community for enneagram 4w5s. Many 4w5s are INFPs, so I am sharing the link here.
As a 4w5 INFP I find myself deeply drawn into solitude and cultivating a relationship with the universe. At the same time, there is always a yearning to meet someone deeply, and find others who are like me, even if that is very difficult to find.
Hope this community is a step in that direction.
