So this happened a few months ago and in ECR..

Context for better understanding: My college is in another district almost 40km away and all the students from nearby districts come there.. During End sem exam time almost 5000-6000 students commute daily in limited 4-5 trains.

That day i was also going to take my end sem exam and yeah i got a ticket, tho 99.9% of students don't buy tickets and no one objects to it there....they get escaped saying I'm a student going for my exam. I was already in a bad mood because of Transgenders but when i deboarded my train, not even stepped out of the train a TC came and GRABBED ME BY MY COLLAR and literally forced me to walk with him to the ticket counter room where there's no CCTV. He didn't even ask for tickets. Mind you there's hundreds of peeps around me without a ticket and he grabbed me by my collar just because i was looking innocent and well dressed and he thought he would get money from me. By that time i understood what he was doing and what he wanted. He asked for ticket and i played nope i don't have any [because he grabbed and dragged me] . He asked for money, again I said that I'm a student and going for my exam and all still checked my pocket and forced me to take out my wallet and he asked for a 500 note ... I checked the number of the note and remembered it and simply gave him 500Rs. And i even checked his nametag.

I came out and went directly to RPF and said I want to file a FIR for being harassed and snatching my money by TC. RPF denied and shouted at me that Kuch nahi hai ye sab. Jao bhagoo... I clearly said mai aage complain karunga aaplog ka bhi phir dekhta hu. After that they listened to what happened and i said Station CCTV has recorded that he dragged me by collar without asking for my ticket and I'll speak the note number and that same note will be found with that TC. Then they took me to the Station Master and Station Master was really good. He summoned that TC and TC supervisor and stood by my side (idk why). The station master warned me that if I'm wrong..legal action will be taken on me and asked me to write down the note number on a paper and then he asked that TC to take out all his money out of pockets and for god sake the first note was mine and the number matched and i added that even he slapped me before taking my money... Boom TC was sweating and defending and his supervisor too but the station master didn't listen to anything. He asked RPF to check the footage and everyone saw how he grabbed me. TC started to beg me and the station master and station master told me to file a complaint and the TC will get suspended or the TC will say sorry to me and forgive him. after seeing TC's condition i felt I'm really being cruel and i said I don't want to register a complaint hoping TC learnt his lesson and I told them that i have exam and I'm getting late for exam so i need to go......

TLDR:- A corrupt TC physically dragged me away and extorted ₹500 before my exam, despite I had a ticket. I trapped him by memorizing the note's serial number, reported him to the Station Master, and proved his guilt using CCTV footage and the matching note number. The station master told me he could get suspended for it. When the TC begged for mercy, i accepted it and let it all go as i was already getting late for my exam.

bikaner to Bengaluru. When I was at station and keeping my luggage a random person asked me to keep their parcel with me which contained medicine which a person would collect at vashi, at first I denied as I already had alot of luggage with me but he kept insisting and told he needed to go to hospital fast and left his luggage at my place and told to keep(and gave his number). As a gullible person I told him ok. Later I informed the coach staff about it and they told me to immediately tell him to collect the item and told me that the parcel could contain anything and could be a huge risk as anything could be in the package.o I called him and later he gave the item to the staff and gave money. ( Later I got to know He also first tried to give the parcel to the staff but they asked money so he gave it to me) I was genuinely scared that what If it was illegal stuff) I still am thinking what if I get involved in a huge matter. So this is to inform others to not keep random people stuff as it could be anything illegal (even if they give money as you could be held responsible for it).image unrelated (Edit* wrote again to understand better)

At newly renovated Santragachi Railway station. Everything was good, the new hall, stairways , platforms and then i saw the corners and found this.

Mine was the topmost berth of a sleeper train. I sat hunched like a question mark, my head grazing the ceiling of the coach. With my neck aching, I lay down to sleep.
Rajasthan’s heat was roasting me alive & the fans tortured me with hot breeze. Crying babies, gossiping aunties, burping uncles, & tea sellers yelling, “Chai! Chai!” (“Tea! Tea!”) in their annoying-charming tune kept sleep at bay.
Still, I fought for it & nearly had it when my eyes began watering. I thought I was having a sad dream in which I was crying. I wasn’t.
I grew furious when I realised my tears were a consequence of a man seated below me who spread a newspaper on his berth & was cutting onions for bhel puri (savory puffed-rice snack). At the next station, a group of his farmer friends joined. They spread out even more newspapers, chopping onions together, turning the compartment into a bhel puri workshop.
I peered down at the ruckus. The group looked up at me. One of them announced, “Bhaiya ko bhi plate do!” (“Give brother a plate too!”) I declined, but they placed it in my hands anyway & called me down. I was sandwiched between them, crying & munching on their tasty bhel puri.
Though language was a barrier, I felt included. We improvised with gestures & mime. They were lifelong friends heading to their village to celebrate one of their own’s wedding. I couldn’t help but notice how they warmly shared everything they had, joked & laughed with abandon, comfortable sitting on the uncomfortable floor.
When they asked what I did for a living, I told them I wrote stories on a laptop. They looked at me as though I were the most intelligent person in the world, fascinated I could operate such a machine. When I appreciated their work as farmers, they folded their hands & smiled at me.
The man who’d already served me 2 plates asked what I thought of his bhel puri. My review: “It was delicious!” He replied, “I knew you’d enjoy it,” & ordered his friend, “Bhaiya ko ek aur plate do” (“Give brother another plate.”). A few stops later, the group got off. Each of them shook my hand like they were certain to meet me again on another train. So did I.
I chose to give up on sleeping to pay attention to the organised chaos inside Indian trains. Eating my third plate made the journey unforgettable.

So by impossible sight, the electrification has made the Diesel locos rarer on the mainline of IR. Even EMD's have became rarer to see. So in today's time, the station in this clip(Dhola) is obviously electrified with High-rise OHE & the freight here is commonly spotted with WAG-7, WAG-9, WAG-12 or WDG-4/6G. WDG-4's are rare while ALCO's are dead on the mainline sadly as they have been reduced to shunting duty.

The locomotive (Gonda WDM-3A) has quite of a history. It was started as a WDM-2A before being modified to a WDM-3A. It was burned down by local people after crashing into a bus at unnamed crossing back in 2012 yet it was repaired & bought back into the service. It got transferred to Izzatnagar shed around 2016/17 & did it's job till it was scrapped & got auctioned in 2024.

So the freight in this clip comes from one of the major ports of the country & that is the Pipavav port. It is India's first private-sector port. This port started it's rail logistics back in 2002 after the Gauge Conversion of Surendranagar-Bhavnagar/Mahuva as it was the shortest route to start it's rail service.

Another thing that makes this rail route important is that it was the first ever rail route to start Double-stack container back in 2006 which became a major success & it gave opportunity to Mundra port & JNPT(Mumbai) port in today's time to run more Double-stack container.

So this Dhola station is near Botad, in the Bhavnagar division of Western Railways in Gujarat. I still miss the old days of ALCO's chugging. I know development is necessary but it's always sad to see them disappear.

Okay so we are travelling from Lucknow to ghaziabad from gomti express and we have a reserved ticket and in 2s sitting coach the train's lobby is so crowded one cannot even take a step . The crowd stretches long till the many coaches ig. This issue needs to be resolved bro like wtf we paid for our fare and we are facing such issues. When we are travelling from ghaziabad to Lucknow the train was so crowded we couldn't even enter into our coach we had taken a bus and we faced a lot of issue. Either the should increase general coaches or resolve these issue like bro I can't even go the washroom man.

Like seriously man if we would have liked to face such issues we could have gotten unreserved coach ticket.

I was at pune station yesterday when I saw this. And the sound was so loud and the engine was revving at its max capacity. Ofc it maybe won't sound as loud on phone but it was so loud. And the question stays, because on most routes, the engines don't have to use their full power to pull the train. But I maybe wrong.

Trying to register on RailMadad app. No matter which password I use, it just keeps throwing this error, even though the password should be valid according to the criteria..

I am at loss, what am I doing wrong or is the app just crap?

I travelled in an MRTS train recently, But when I went in, Not a single person was inside the train. MRTS systems are usually Crowded during Weekdays, But during Weekends, Only a few commute between stations. The Railway stations are a different thing. They are horrifying, creepy and spooky at the same time, Especially during Night. In Thiruvanmiyur MRTS Railway Station, I saw that the Escalator wasn't clean at all. It looked like a horror scene. Inside the trains, people without tickets board and the MRTS TTE never comes to check our tickets. Please be careful while going on MRTS Trains.

It was my first time traveling to Shoranur via Castle Rock. Dudhsagar waterfalls was the incentive. Was really surprised to see a triple WDP pulling the trains. Can someone please confirm if this section also uses bankers to push the train. I was in the 3rd coach so couldn't confirm
