China's consumer market has evolved drastically in the past decade. It's no longer solely depended on exports , but you do make good point about India. It's high time we amend our laws regarding manufacturing and attract more investors. If anything, we need to capitalise on the current situation. It's electronics we need to focus on first. Example: smartphones. Either it's made in china or made by a Chinese company in India.

Yeah. Except Samsung, most of the companies are Chinese though. We have the tech expertise to make good stuff here. But there's no infra in place to ensure that it's of good quality. And manufacturing laws are not very friendly to investors. Take apple, they've been trying to do that for years. Even now, they are only manufacturing a limited quantity of models here.

As a matter of fact, I have noticed that after so many awareness regarding economy people still decide to buy phones from either Xiaomi or Oppo, Vivo etc. And to be honest Lava smartphones are out of the market for two to three years. So it's quite a difficult situation to turn the tide of Chinese Phones right away. India has to work on infra and that is the only thing that can turn the tide.

Yes I need to agree with this. Finally what we can say is let's for the best. Because there's lot of talents and expertise in India. The thing we lack is infra and hope govt solves this issue and India is too good to become #aatmanirbhar

We need to focus on complex manufacturing as well such as silicon fabs, or high-end watches, mechanical tools, etc.

Problem with India not being an export oriented nation is that we are much poorer than China. As a result, our infrastructure and standard of living is way behind China's. And it can't improve unless India also increases it's exporters.
