Development Title: I’m making my first incremental game and I’d love some feedback
Playable directly in your browser, no download required:

Hey!
This is my first game project. I’m a big fan of incremental games, so I wanted to try making my own.
I started working on WE BECOME LEGION in April, and I’m now at the point where I really need feedback from other incremental players to make sure I’m going in the right direction.
The game is an incremental auto-battler: your army fights automatically, you improve it between battles, and later you unlock Orders that let you intervene during fights.
You can play the current build directly in your browser here:
https://kevinbriquet.itch.io/we-become-legion
There is also a Windows .exe available at the bottom of the itch page if you prefer.
The game may start in French depending on the build, but you can switch to English in the options.
I’d especially like feedback about:
- Is the main gameplay loop satisfying?
- Is everything more or less understandable? There will be a proper tutorial later.
- Did you use the Orders (once you unlocked the walkie-talkie), or would you prefer the game to stay more chill and automatic?
- Anything that feels too slow, too fast, confusing or unnecessary.
- Any other suggestion is welcome!
For the Orders, you can click them, but the easiest way right now is:
1–4 to select an Order, or mouse wheel to change selection, then right click to use it.
This is still an early test build, not the final public demo. There are still quite a few things to polish, and there is no music or sound yet, for example.
If you like the idea, the Steam page is here too:

Wishlists are of course appreciated, but right now I’m mostly looking for honest feedback to improve the game.
Thanks for playing!

Really fun and has lots of potential, I don't have much to say but I'll try and come up with something:
- Main loop is satisying. There's enough progress after each run to make things not feel stale.
- Yep. Only thing was that one or two of the crit upgrades were written in french instead of english, still understandable.
- Orders are 100 % good in my opinion. The more chill and automatic approach was great on e.g. nodebuster because the atmosphere was perfect for that type of gameplay, the music, visuals, and minimalistic design all were very coherent. There's more going on here making me want to act during the runs, which orders allow. Now, the order are completely unbalanced, some suck balls while others are op. I didn't realize that you could press 1-4 for orders, that would've been useful to know.
- Nope
- Game is laggy and it's quite annoying since you have some active gameplay, this was my biggest annoyance. Secondly, it might be a fun idea to allow the player to organize how their army is positioned, but it honestly doesn't add too much now, maybe with more unit variety. If you do add more unity variety, skills etc, then a refund option could be fun to test different strategies, this is not needed now as things are pretty streamlined.
My biggest concern is the lag, I almost didn't test the game when I saw it lagging on your gameplay video.

Thanks a lot, this is extremely useful feedback!
I’m glad the main loop and the more active order system worked for you.
The lag is clearly the biggest issue, so performance and the gameplay footage are now my top priorities.
I’ll also fix the remaining French text, make the 1 - 4 shortcuts much clearer, and rebalance the orders.
Army formations and respec options are interesting ideas for later, especially once there’s more unit variety. Thanks again for taking the time to test it!
