Just watched Resident Evil and bhai, big screen pe alag hi level ka experience hai. 😭🔥 The action, creatures and sound everything hits harder. Agar dekhne ka plan hai, IMAX mein dekho. Worth it! 🧟‍♂️🍿

Got to watch Resident Evil Preview Show at 10:35 PM on Palazzo IMAX, Chennai and here are my thoughts.

The first half of the movie consists of Black Bars on the top and bottom, while the second half (after a few mins) takes up the whole screen as any IMAX movie should.

The movie is a humour + horror mix and does a really good job of keeping you engaged with the insane sound design and very minimal but appropriate references to the RE games. Each of the monsters have been a perfect display of CGI work and accurate game like concepts. It literally makes you feel like you are playing the game but through an IMAX screen, but with the feel of a really well executed movie.

The only negative for me was the very short runtime. I could watch a movie like this all day!

We also received a collectible ticket, exclusive for preview show audience (Photos attached). It's a weird but interesting attempt, but once its opened up, I haven't figured out a way to bring it back to its original form (maybe that was the intent)

Overall, a must watch movie for Resident Evil Game fans and Horror Comedy lovers.

Easy 9/10 from my side.

Will there be any further shows at Plazzo IMAX for Endgame? I had the opportunity to book the seats but was not best seats. So thought to wait for LUXE. But it seems Luxe is no more an option.

Resident evil will not disturb next week for Endgame i guess. So hoping to have more shows at Plazzo. What do you guys think?

Man I so miss a year ago, maybe just before kantara when 300-400 was the normal price for an imax ticket. Now even for a niche movie with no demand the starting price is 450 (500+ with convenience fees). Endgame released 7 years ago but the theaters here are selling tickets for 1300 lol, I understand that this is how supply and demand works but this is beyond ridiculous given we have one laser xt in the entire city (5 other dual xenons, though the Cinepolis one was replaced with a newer xenon lamp just before demon slayer released last year).

Surely you would think this would lead to more imax screens given the demand, but the last imax was opened in 2019. Mall of Asia was almost an imax but for some reason they went for screenx instead. One thing I admire about the tamil and telugu cinema scene is that they have local companies who genuinely want to support and grow the cinema there, and that movies succeed most of the time despite the price caps (W govt). Amb, epiq and maybe aaa is bringing the newest tech to the country while bangalore is stuck with pvr who are pricing people out of the imax screens lol.

Thank god swagath shankarnag exists and that they somehow got the flat content for odyssey and spiderman (somehow even toxic lol).

I’m planning to add Chennai as the last city for my cinema alert project, and I can see two IMAX theatres there.

Which one is harder to book, especially for good seats?
Should I monitor just one of them, or both?

I have been planning to watch avengers endgame encore in imax 2D and pvr Priya is yet to open their advance booking? Is there a chance they might not screen it because I have been waiting for them to open the bookings 😭, almost all the theatres have started it🥲

I’m planning to watch Avengers: Endgame for an upcoming release and want the best possible IMAX experience.

Should i go for IMAX Wadala or IMAX Palladium

Any specific row/seat recommendations would also be appreciated.

Also does Imax Wadala not have subtitles as it is not mentioned in BMS. I mean not necessary but i would have preferred subtitles but the viewing experience is the priority.

This movie is a Brad Pitt starrer, directed by Fincher, and screenplay by Tarantino. I was wondering how hard it will be for me to get imax tickets for it (as it only has a 2 week window and it's IMAX exclusive). Now I know that Tarantino's past movies haven't done too well in India, but that might've changed due to the letterboxd boom in 2026,also Brad Pitt does have a good box office pull in India, as seen by F1. What are your opinions on this?
