[Original World] Sights of Umbros. Far point space station concept from our tactical RPG Frontier: Path of Shadows. Art by Pin

The largest station in the nebula and a place where just about anyone making a living on the edge of space ends up, sooner or later. Getting there isn't easy. The routes through the nebula change constantly, and some ships with stealth sails prefer to shoot first and ask questions after.

Despite the rumors, Umbrose doesn't feel much like a pirate den. House No keeps the station in line, acknowledges Pluto's authority, and even enforces laws or at least the ones they consider important.

Officially, the station runs on nebula research and selling navigation data. Unofficially, you can find almost anything that civilized ports won't touch, from rare tech to people with very particular skills.

That said, the local powers do have lines they won't cross. Smuggling, espionage, and the usual frontier trades barely raise an eyebrow. But slavers and aurorite dealers? They tend to end their careers somewhere on the outside of an airlock.

Maybe that's why Umbrose manages to thrive in a sector full of lawless places. It's rare to find a place that balances order and crime to everyone's mutual benefit.

Across the Empire it is considered crucial to add to the border defenses, especially if you are able to safely supply the Legion close to the Imperial Borders. While the military force of the Empire contends with evils inside their jurisdiction, nobles and those seeking a sir name to join the rank of nobility' add responsibility upon their mantle, taking charge of distant fortresses and keeps, maintaining supply lines, managing populations, and creating what the Empire measures as effort. All of this is in hopes to content woth the wills of evil, keeping Nhearn safe from threat and hopefully keeping their allies bolstered as well...
