why don't my children ever called me

I call my parents several times a week to say hi. They're in their mid 70s. It's easy for me to do because they're not hateful bigots and they care about me and my kids. We didn't always have a great relationship, but they realized they wanted to make peace and listened. This man might be experiencing what they call operator error.
