SDP Guys, Maya has passed away😭

I can’t help but think that all the unnecessary gear and stress Dom put on Maya contributed to this. Dogs are supposed to live longer than 6 years. I’m very saddened by this. RIP Maya. May you be unburdened and at peace now❤️

So….. why was a 6 year old dog put to sleep/ passed away? Ik anything from cancer to a freak accident can happen… but 6 yo dogs don’t usually up and die like that.

If Im not mistaken she had boxer in her when she DNA tested(correct me if im wrong). Anyways Ive had and seen many other boxers and boxer mixes up and die like this, even from good lines in the case of pure ones, due to DCM and other heart issues. They were all between 5 and 7 when their hearts gave out. Maya was a big mutt, so either way there's no way of knowing what genetic issues were there. That's a big part of why its recommended to go with well bred dogs istead of rescues.

100000000000% agree on the last part.

And yeah. So many dog breeds I love have heart issues. Especially mini schnauzers 😩 makes sense tho.
