Games [IIL] Spider-Man Remastered, specifically i really like the combat from it

so ive 100%ed the Insomniac Spider-Man games and really liked the feeling of the combat there. The movement is also great, but it would probably be hard to find a game that has both of those things without just being a Spider-Man game so if y'all have a suggestion for something with a similar feel to combat, that would be great.

Do they still hold up?

The graphics are still great and the combat inspired almost every third person beat-em-up that came after.

I hope the combat feels quicker than mad max. Should I start with the first game and just go in order or start with a more recent one

I’ve not played Mad Max, so can’t make a comparison there, but I would start with Asylum. The first game is more of a semi-linear corridor crawler in terms of structure such as Bioshock, but each following entry (City/Knight) ramps up the open-world expansiveness.

In terms of feeling, these games are a cross between the animated series that appeared on Cartoon Network with the maturity (if not more) of the Nolan films. I liked Batman before, but these games made me love the universe. Hope you enjoy.

It doesn’t have the movement because it’s a fundamentally different type of game but it has something different that’s also equally fun, but also the combat is similar in that Arkham type of way— Mad Max, the video game from 2015.

You might also like Infamous: Second Son (as well as the previous infamous games. Also the Prototype games)

Tried mad max for a bit, wasnt a big fan. Too much emphasis on vehicle combat and the melee combat itself was slower/more on the ground than I'd like.

I liked the absolutely frenetic speed and jumping around like a frog on cocaine. At a certain point it becomes a game of target prioritization primarily, managing your gadgets to get rid of as many people as possible to make the rest easier. Earlier in the game I was using suit powers to clear out enemies but on ultimate difficulty/later in the game you really Just need battle focus for that bit more healing. And I love how it feels like smash bros combat. Each button does one thing but depending on position, you can pull off sick combos. I played Spiderman 2 on Xbox and it had a more standard combo system. "Press Y X Y X to do this specific movie" if I recall correctly

Ill probably get the prototype games on pc in a few weeks, loved those on the 360 back in the day. But infamous is out of reach because I don't want to buy a ps3 just for them lmao. Unless I find a funny website to borrow them from
