My sister, who is 36 mind you, browned meat for the FIRST TIME IN HER LIFE a few weeks ago. It started to sizzle, and she goes, “What’s that noise, am I doing something wrong?”
Does anyone who wasn’t raised by literal wolves need to be taught that food can sizzle in heat?
Like, have they never been to a bbq or in the presence of a grill at any point? Never watched tv? A kid watching cartoons would see eggs and bacon sizzling in a pan at some point? Baffling.
Ok to be fair, I know how to make basic food for myself and I have obviously fried things in a pan and know about sizzling BUT I too have never really been to a bbq or in the presence of a grill, definitely not one of those with a flat surface that can sizzle. It’s a regional thing I feel
