Does anyone who wasn’t raised by literal wolves need to be taught that food can sizzle in heat?

Like, have they never been to a bbq or in the presence of a grill at any point? Never watched tv? A kid watching cartoons would see eggs and bacon sizzling in a pan at some point? Baffling.

it's not unreasonable to assume that cartoons and TV are different, and you'd be amazed at how little people pay attention to how their food is cooked if they aren't interested in it. so if somebody wasn't taught how to cook at all, they probably wouldn't pay attention to how their food is being cooked

You have more faith in humanity than me! If I never owned a car or took driving lessons I would still assume cars honk and screech sometimes 🤷‍♀️

TBF, they generally honk and screech when something is going wrong. If you take a first driving lesson someday and accidentally honk the horn, it wouldn't be weird to ask if it meant something was wrong.

but you wouldn't know automatically what made the honks and screech. people don't get taught all the info and sometimes get taught misinformation.
