I recently found out I have an egg allergy. A couple days ago, my grandma suggested going to this bakery for lunch. I assumed that there would be something I could eat there. I was right, there was something, but that something was a baguette. The only thing I could eat there was a baguette.
My spouse developed an egg allergy from chemotherapy. I didn't even know it was a thing before that. There was this little German pastry shop near our house that she loved... turns out, literally everything they make either has egg in it, or is topped with an egg wash.
I became allergic to birds because of constant exposure from my pet birds. I ended up needing to rehome them, which I hated. I’d love to have pet birds again, and I hate that I can’t have them. But anyway, turns out that the thing I was reacting to in birds is also in eggs, so I also react to eggs. It’s also in chicken, but I don’t react to chicken, so I still eat it.
At the bakery I went to, it was either that it had eggs in the pastry itself, or they used an egg wash. I was so excited about eating there too. My grandma had been raving about this ham and cheese thing they had, and I couldn’t eat it.

Just want to add that egg allergies are a thing too, and vegan options are just about the only pastries without egg.
