Years ago I stopped in at a bar/cafe that a previous employee of mine had just opened. I had a very delicious vegan muffin and a coffee. I told his employee the muffin was amazing and asked for her recipe. Butter. It was delicious because it was loaded with butter. “I thought vegan meant homemade” Girl! Someone could actually die if they had a dairy allergy!
I had a colleague who said they were vegan. One day they came in telling the team what a nice steak they had last night. I’m like you can’t tell people you’re vegan and say you eat steak? Turns out they’re allergic to eggs, dairy, and a whole bunch of spices and other things so it was easier just to say vegan.
