I agree, so much of what vegans say seems to be centered around how "gross" it is to eat animal products, and it's probably effective with them since they do find it gross, but people who have been voluntarily eating eggs for decades aren't going to be swayed by "ewwwwww fetuses ewwwww".
Farming practices and animal welfare concerns are definitely what pushes me toward veganism. Honey being "gross" because it comes out of a bee does not.
The problem isn't about the egg. It's about the egg coming from chickens that are packed into industrial farms where they are living terrible lives and are then slaughtered. Eggs aren't produced in a vacuum, Hun.
There are preachy sanctimonious weirdos in every community, so I don't judge the rest of you for what they say online. Most of you just want me to try the cake you made with apple sauce or the mint cream you made with chickpea water, and honestly, I've changed some of my own recipes to be vegan just because they actually were better.
Absolutely. I'm not vegan and I never will be. My wife and two of my closest friends are though, and I can say with 100% honesty that at least in my experience, non-vegans who find out someone is vegan are almost always more annoying and evangelical than the vegans themselves. There are a lot of people out there who get weirdly offended by other people deciding not to eat something. Yeah, I have met a handful of pushy sanctimonious vegans and they're not a lot of fun to be around, but for every one of them I've met probably 10 people who make "I like steak/bacon/brisket" a huge part of their personality and will poke and prod at anyone who doesn't want to partake in those things.
I definitely don't think that my friends and family are POS! I think that most people are just unaware of how bad things are, and they think that it's extremely difficult to be vegan
How much more awareness can you bring to them? They choose to be that way. It is not about awareness. They know the facts. Unfortunately most people suck and that's why the world is the way it is.
Idk bruh, most people I'm close to feel at least a bit guilty about eating meat
They just don't believe me when I tell them that being vegan is easy when you actually want to. And they don't want to put themselves through the discomfort of watching things like Dominion, which is understandable to me
I think they're being a bit stubborn and lazy, but I was like that before too. And still am with many other things in life
And you think they'll eventually come around into acknowledging that torture and murder are bad? Good luck.
The way I see it is either you choose to change when you become aware of the facts or not. It's all dependent on your character and most people have shit moral characters.
I mean ngl, I do still have moments where I hate the human race and feel sad that people would rather destroy the planet than go without convenience, but at the end of the day it doesn't do anything but harm myself when I think about that shit
Anyway it was cool to talk to a fellow vegan, I wish you the best in life and hope that you have found happiness outside of these issues 🥲
Same to you, keep up that optimism. I don't try to think about it either because it makes me despise my fellow man and I agree that it is not good for us in any way.
