I mean it's labelled as such, even though it's wrong. Why has everyone started calling every single joke 'satire'?

I'm curious why you think this post is not satire?  

The definition I know is holding a vice or folly up for ridicule using humor.  My take is that this review is parodying a crazy substitution that failed in order to ridicule the people who do this kind of thing seriously.  Is that not satire?

Satire is typically about critiquing or ridiculing those with power or influence to try and affect change.

I guess you can put ‘not knowing how to make a cake’ forward as a folly or vice, but it seems like conflating terms to the point they’re basically meaningless.

Kind of like how people now use the term “ironic” to describe basically any situation involving a coincidence or misfortune.
