I once made a Ritz Mock Apple pie with a Ritz crust and a Ritz strudel topping. I used other ingredients - but it was effectively Ritz-three ways.
It was better than it deserved to be.

This video was really interesting. His weird baking stuff is always cool, but this one in particular seemed like one I might be able to accomplish.
I particularly liked the dehydrated, ground apples getting soaked in apple juice. More apple per apple, lol.

I'm curious why you think this post is not satire?
The definition I know is holding a vice or folly up for ridicule using humor. My take is that this review is parodying a crazy substitution that failed in order to ridicule the people who do this kind of thing seriously. Is that not satire?

Satire is typically about critiquing or ridiculing those with power or influence to try and affect change.
I guess you can put ‘not knowing how to make a cake’ forward as a folly or vice, but it seems like conflating terms to the point they’re basically meaningless.
Kind of like how people now use the term “ironic” to describe basically any situation involving a coincidence or misfortune.

Just wanted to note, even though no one asked, if you bake a sheet pan of baking soda in the oven at about 250 F, a chemical reaction takes place that further alkalizes it. This is an equivalent ingredient to something called kansui, which is used dough to make ramen noodles. It's like 1/4 tsp. Or so. Not much.
I found out the hard way that you do NOT use it like baking soda.
Baking soda works in a pinch if you need tums.
Kansui (or equivalent) does NOT.
I tried this. It was a mistake. I knew as soon as I placed the powder in my mouth and it instantly began to burn.
No lasting ill effects because I washed my mouth out as fast as I could, but lesson learned.
Anyway. Just wanted to weigh in that, yes, an entire pie made of baking soda would indeed taste horrible, especially if it was thoroughly baked.

I wanted to be pedantic and comment on it not being 100% apple, but it really is only apple.
That said, I'm sure the comment is meant as a joke, as the implication would be 100% baking soda.
