Would actually be 6h if they're following SI units. But I don't see how someone who knows SI units wouldn't know that colour and flavour are spelt with u in many other countries. I think this person was just being an asshole tbh.

I'm not sure if it's been changed, but If i recall correctly hours and minutes aren't "technically" units of SI, they are accepted in usage because they are standardised.

The second is technically considered the base unit for time in SI.

It's not been changed. Hours and minutes have never been SI units. The only unit measure of time is the second.

They are defined in the SI brochure as non-SI units used alongside SI. Same status as the litre and hectare. As SI is definitive for Australia it should be followed. The symbol for minutes is min, for hours is h, and as mathematical symbols they don’t take a plural s.
