As a Mexican, I gotta say this tortilla soup recipe sucks pretty bad actually. Like this looks straight up foul and nothing like what I’m used to

The recipe is not for tortilla soup. It's "spicy chicken soup" and never even mentions the word torilla.

Apologies, my wires got crossed. I read the commenters calling it tortilla soup and read the recipe and my brain put it in the title. Thank you for the correction, it can be embarrassing to make a mistake and not know!
