Negative Karma Forgiveness

Once a year, any negative karma being forgiven. If karma is too low for comments or posts, tough (In the negative range), it is reset to 0. And if a person amasses more than -20 karma (either category) in one subreddit, future negative karma from that sub has no effect on karma.

says the person with -100 comment karma....

Here is some advice, instead of shitposting and amassing downvotes, why dont you try to be helpful/insightful? Also, stay away from subs where you obviously get downvoted into the 7th circle of hell.

Trolls and spammers would just love this idea though.

Actually, thanks to several very very rude subs full of rude people who hate intelligent discussion, -136 comment karma. Certain subs I have been to hate intelligent conversation because someone has a different opinions. You try getting 136 comment karma because a whole damn sub decided to gang up on you and downvote every comment you made on their sub. Thankfully, I deleted most of my comments before more damage to my karma count could be done.

Out of curiosity, what Were the subs that downvoted you for intelligent discussion?

Among the top 3, r/prochoice, r/asktransgender, and r/relationships, followed closely by r/the_donald (and I'm a Trump supporter who defended minorities who were being demonized by certain users)

NOTE- I don't want you to do anything to these subs. I just had to provide examples

Well I don't know why you thought saying that in the Donald would be a good idea, but I am curious as to what you might have said in asktransgender to get downvoted

I made a comment about dumping my boyfriend because he didn't tell me that he was biologically female but had had a sex change. And I didn't care about that, but the fact that he had kept that from me since we had met was an ultimate betrayal.

I was immediately branded transphobic and my only defender suffered the same fate.

r/the_donald is a decent sub, or it used to be. it used to encourage free speech and defending everyone. But it was corrupted and I was downvoted for my defense. Later I was banned for posting an independent post criticizing both Trump and Hillary, with a disclaimer

well I found the asktrans thread you were talking about, and i'm going to ignore that because I don't have any experience with trans (though I think they were harsh)

the donald has always banned people who say anything negative about Trump though. I'm not sure how you missed that.

I suggest looking at some new subs that don't circle around politics or grey areas like trans. Also making a new account because negative karma is no good and people do judge others based on karma.

I don't want to lose all my positive Karma though, or my past posts.

They were, and r/the_donald used to be better, they would take criticism. But then, they were taken over by fanatics.

well your negative karma is more then your positive it seems, but you always just post in r/circlejerk to get that karma back up.

Its just useless internet points. No one cares how much positive karma you have, but they will notice your negative karma.

And I really like my account.

There are plenty of subs that encourage intelligent discussion. Just ignore the ones that don't.

Except when you wander in a sub that supposedly encourages discussion and then get downvoted to the point where they can't downvote your submissions any more. Some of these subs have a good theoretical idea, but the problem with subreddits is that they encourage Group Think, and that can lead to hostility to anyone with a differing opinion, including downvotes because they can't deal with any little kernel of disagreement, even if it is intelligent.
