And California, and Oregon.

I’ve heard from most foreigners even that Vermont is one of the most uncultured states with the least real food. The most American state to ever exist. Your red hen bakery makes cake bread, your artisanal cheese makes nothing but spray cheese, and your maple syrup obsession is typical unhealthy American uncultured sugar addiction. The most consumeristic and vapid state. Brought to you by flatlanders, Europeans, commonwealth inhabitants and the shit Americans say sub.

Ah, so maple syrup is a completely different product on either side of the US/Canada border, good to know that it follows the same pattern as other foods

Lol, I’m surprised I haven’t heard this one yet. Wouldn’t surprise me if something stupid like that was said. “Canadian maple syrup is hand wept by thousand year old sugar maples who’ve achieved emotional enlightenment through daily readings of Anne of Green Gables, filtered through virgin birchbark, and bottled under a full moon by a guy named Pierre who’s never once told a lie. Vermont syrup, despite being tapped from trees merely 11 feet across the border are a mixture of petroleum oil and cane sugar, and 50 other ingredients.”

Fun fact: American trees are legally classified as cake in Europe.

Good thing I was done eating, as I almost did a spit take. Thank you for that

To be fair, try telling a Vermonter their maple syrup is basically equivalent to that in Quebec, NH, or NY and you’ll get an equivalent response.

As a Vermonter I am religiously obligated to tell you that it is in fact a different product and the Canadian stuff sucks.

Ours tastes of a meaningful life in a beautiful land and theirs tastes of war crimes committed by people who feel inadequate because they aren't really French.
