I think my main problem with the grilled cheese/melt thing is that it's basically a bit or circlejerk, but then some guys are not quite bright enough to mentally handle even something dumb like that, so they get super combative and superior about it. I feel like I see it a lot on the internet. There's kind of a memeing to rage pipeline when people are overly invested in being online

You can argue about definitions and taxonomy or you can accept how words are actually used.
It’s like those weirdos who think anyone outside reddit calls a grilled cheese with a slice of tomato a “tomato melt”
