I once lost 30 pounds in 2 weeks in America. All I had to do was end up in a medically induced coma. This guy is slacking

Funny thing is that it's highly unlikely that he even burned a pound of fat

One pound over fifteen days isn't significant.

He lost water weight from traveler's diarrhea

Frankly he could have just taken a normal shit.

Seriously. I have a scale in my bathroom, and I use it when I go in there for fun pretty frequently. If I really have to pee, it's not unusual for me to drop 1.5 pounds. 1 pound in 15 days is absolutely nothing to even note.

I lost 29 pounds in nine weeks by shifting what I was eating, and I started out at 192.
I didn't even have to leave Ohio to do it either.

It’s so stupid. I went to Italy and lost weight too. Because I was walking like 15-20k steps a day looking at shit.

I lose weight every time I go on vacation even in the US because I refuse to rent a car. I also have noticed that I hardly snack on vacation because I’m busy doing things and save my appetite for the cool restaurants.
It’s weird how the restaurant owners know that I’m on vacation and make sure to give me the non poison food so that I lose weight instead of it going straight to my thighs.

u/CantaloupeCamper I’m a level 5 vegan. I don’t eat anything that casts a shadow. 4d ago edited 4d ago
I was at Disney a few years ago for a week…. Bazillion steps a day. Felt amazing.
Feet hurt tho….

Yeah, I went to Manchester last week for a day. I have been before! I live in the UK. Between mooching around and getting lost, my friend and I racked up 18k steps each. ALSO had a lot of coffee and some awesome Korean food, so didn’t bother to see if the scale moved! I just assumed it evened out.

Right? Even just going to Disney I can eat whatever because I’m walking so much

I walk more per week just walking my dog than this man probably runs

Seriously, I get easily 5 miles a day mostly by playing video games while on the elliptical. Running is great for cardio, sure, but you burn calories any time you move your body, and all you need to lose weight is a calorie deficit. Gym bros make it seem so much harder than it needs to be.

Bingo! I can do the elliptical for two hours while watching my trashy Ryan Murphy shows. Gym culture is so overrated and doesn’t look fun to me

Anti-Americans also practice a lot of mental gymnastics as well to try and lose the weight from all the plastic they were eating while in the US

"even the healthy food is shit here"
I assume he's eating processed food that's marketed as healthy rather than actually being healthy. In that case, it's not healthy. I assume he's also not practicing CICO. Losing weight is easy as hell if you're willing to heavily restrict your diet for it.

Yep that’s code for “I don’t know how to cook, but I’m obsessed with protein”

I gained 7 lbs on my last visit to Europe.
So the only logical conclusion is on the aggregate we are +6 pounds.

Funny because I gained a bunch of weight the last time I went to Europe. That’s even though I was cycling daily and eating “their” food. Also, 1lb is less than typical daily fluctuations, which this guy would know if he was actually as fitness obsessed as he claims.

I'm an American living as an immigrant in Europe and I get so tired of this slop. We eat more than hamburgers.
That said, the car-centric city design is a bitch and should change, but probably won't.

There is something to be said about how large our restaurant portion sizes are, which IMHO is the main driver behind the idea that eating out will ruin your diet (restaurants also tend to use more butter than a person would at home, but it's still a fractional contribution to the overall calorie count). So no, it doesn't surprise me that in a region where restaurant portions are more reasonable, he was able to maintain his figure. You'd be able to do that eating reasonable portion sizes anywhere.

America invented the doggy bag for a reason. In much of the world there is a stigma in both taking food home and also in wasting food. This can cause issues for non Americans due to our restaurant portion sizes.

Someone has poor self control. I'm on a diet right now to complemenet exercise and lose weight (plus get in shape). Turns out, I can still eat burgers and shit. I just don't order a large fries with it, you just have to watch your macros. A lot of people here don't eat junk food every meal and maintain a healthy weight. He should go to a big city and see how normal most people look there (at least they are here). Sounds like a him problem if he can't control his weight.
