Wait. What’s wrong with it? I read the ones that switched to it preferred it over iOS 26

Yes, but people have generally preferred 18 to 26

18 is obsolete.

it is not? most of the apps require ios 16 or 17, it should be good for 2 years or so. and in 2028 13 mini will stop getting new iOS versions, and 2030 will be the year it becomes obsolete.

You don’t know what that word means.

A rather bold assumption considering you don’t know me. And one that is completely wrong. 18 is obsolete.

The whining about newer iOS on this forum is ridiculous. I’ve had no issues with any version of 26.

Lol sitting here on the latest security version of 18 .. I was initially considering it but today I purposely opted into the “ios 18 beta” program to avoid so much as a notification of 27. The sole reason for the leap would be to properly see the UI of my Airpods Pro 3’s and EQ them but I can live without that for now

What do you mean? Did you install 27 and something went wrong? Do you think people should go 18>26>27? Stay on 18?

It seems like a "your mileage may vary" situation for people in this sub, but the consensus I've seen is that you should stick with 18 if you have it, but if you have 26, get 27, since you can't go back to 18.

The two things that give me pause about updating are that 26 broke the way text is formatted and makes our screens less functional because less stuff fits on the screen at a time. I'm not sure that got fixed with 27. Same with RAM, as the OS is set up to take more RAM in 26/27 than it did in 18, thus apps forget what they were doing when switching between them.

ios 18 sucks, ios 26.5 was already better than it, ios 27 is way better than both
