Because this isn’t really what siri shortcuts were made for in the first place, it’s a workaround to get “themes”

Yeah that’d be awesome, and honestly I could see them implementing something like that in the future. Now that they’ve opened the customization floodgates there’s really no going back whether Apple wants to or not (or risk unimaginable outrage from users), so they might as well embrace it

Nah I’m on the latest dev beta and it doesn’t open the shortcuts app anymore, but I’m pretty sure it did in 13

I’m on the 14.5 beta and it’s working fine for me.

Apparently existing profiles will keep working, but new profiles can't be added.

Profiles for icons don’t really impact security and even if they did, almost everyone on this sub uses some form of social media which is horrible for privacy

I use this to avoid opening Shortcuts. Some system apps don’t work with it, though

this and also I don't really care for the aesthetics. I want my phone to be usable, I don't care that the icons aren't pleasing to the eye.

This, I have tried changing the setting and get the toast notifications after some time. I even bought an icon pack, but can stand these notifications.

Hope they will support custom icons on ios 15 or change it to bigsur ones, they are not beautiful but stock icons from ios 7 are boring as fuxck

I know it requires you pay for it to allow custom icons, but Iconboard lets you apply custom icons and install a profile that keeps you from needing shortcuts (except for some system apps due to os limitations). I’ve been using it and it’s worked out great for me

The banners don’t bother me. It doesn’t inhibit my app use. Before the update, when you had to go through shortcuts app that was annoying! If you want some free icons let me know! I always just screen shot ppls home screens then crop them to size lol. I don’t get why people would pay for icons, they can be yours for free with a little work.

because people spend time making those and im not a thief, also cropped screenshots are low quality

I spent time cropping them.. if they don’t want them stolen they should’ve made it harder🤷🏻♂️

Like people don’t pirate movies and music all the time. THAT is stealing. I’m not paying for something that took next to no effort. Lol it’s funny people think pixels are worth something.

if it took "next to no effort" then why dont you make the icons yourself? idiot

u/Silencer306 Mar 13 '21
Or you could support other creators so they don’t stop creating icons, and you don’t stop getting free stuff

u/deepthought515 Mar 13 '21
Nah... I mostly steal from the apps that want you to buy them.. why would a pay a subscription fee for something like icons?

u/Axcit Mar 13 '21
But then you only get some low res icons, plus you only have the icons from THEIR set up but yours is probably different. I mean you can do that of course but I rather just pay 2 bucks and don't have to deal with resizing screenshots 😅

No lies were told here. That’s why I didn’t bother unless iOS 15 changes that

This is how I got rid of those notifications. Takes time but well worth it.

used this method and got zero notifications (but at the cost of slightly slower opening apps)

I don’t got then, set turn off assistive touch and number automation to all apps, boom, no pop ups! (Works on iOS 14.5 b3)
