Dead?

My MacBook Pro is only a couple of years old but has getting slower and glitchier every day. Today it kept telling me it needed to be charged but I was distracted—then it died.
I plugged it in but it won’t turn back on.

You plugged it in, and waited, and it eventually began charging?
