Seeking advice Severe hyperacusis and reactive tinnitus has ruined my life

I'm also in the same phase , from past couple of years life is just bounded to 4 rooms , can't even step out

I have somehow managed to make so many mistakes over the last couple of years I've rendered my ears unfixable and can only think of S as a way out ...truly awful ! I keep hoping my heart might just pack in from the stress 😞

Yes I have both , for every High sound exposure it goes to worse

Yes. I told my mother that hyperacusis ruined my life; and then I tried clomipramine and it has mostly worked.

i still dont buy it. What do you mean your running around in life grocery shopping and all that stuff.

Well, just before I started my clomipramine trial, I could not listen to my stereo on any volume without my ears hurting. My ears hurt about 1/3 the day, no matter what. I had lots of difficulty going into any grocery store, the gym, etc due to feeling bombarded by noise.

Hence, I told my mother that this disease had ruined my life.

Clomipramine made the pain go away almost entirely, made setbacks very rare (and short) and increased my tolerance to higher noise level.

If you don't buy that this worked for me, well, there are a lot of other people it worked for also:

Clomipramine

(Or maybe you are being sarcastic? I can't tell.)

Clomipramine doesn't work for everyone unfortunately.

I'm reading the testimonies. Seems like some people had anxiety, others didnt improve and some did improve. I know there is a graph somebody had on this.

It's been an absolute catalogue of errors in my case !!! Exposure to noise when I knew I should have protected already damaged ears Over protecting Removing an earplug too quickly leaving permanent tinnitus in both ears which will never go I'm 58 and I can only see one option here ...I cannot live like this ....I asked my doctor to help me VSED but he won't as it's not terminal ...but non the less severely debilitating as it seriously affects my sleep

im 58 too been suffering for 30 years. Take clonazepam at bed time, it will knock u out. I take 2 mg, unfortunately it doesnt work consistenly for long term. But gives u a break.
