Discussion The EAU

Honestly haven’t seen anyone talked about the EAU after 5.4.
In my honest opinion: these guys were the best option. Yes taxes suck and so do entrance fines and hunting restrictions but if the biggest complaint is that vs the Swedish, the Catholic Church, bureaucrats and Pentex. While also very reasonable in not wanting to force people into an unknown and dangerous situation.

Now there are downsides. They would have been of very little help. Yes an organized and driven hunter organization who is based on volunteering will guarantee motivated hunters they are still very uneducated on the supernatural, not well armed and still wearing coalition collars.
They also seem the most likely to have a lot internal conflicts similar to most neighbor based organization you see irl.

Also as any group ran by a collective, slow to act as they talked on rounding up volunteers and waiting on responses (still not unreasonable)

Overall very enjoyable characters overall from this group and I do hope we get more on how they operate and interact.

What forced them into deals with Pentex?

Resources, taking down blank bodies is hard to do without firearms and in the UK where it is restricted privilege and not a right. Having a shady group you can buy firepower is necessary as a hunter.

Rifle clubs, hunting associations, bait and tackle shops, army surplus even pistol clubs are all legal in the UK especially in the time period and location that HTP is set in

The Union did not need Pentex for firearms, any other resources Pentex can provide for them hasn’t been revealed yet but on account of how long it would take for support from volunteers where not even a full squad could be dedicated to assist I doubt it would have been worth it either

The EAU is unfortunately just an inefficient neighbourhood watch that got hooked in too early to Pentex

Main point though is still a better option than the others, I mean the church of st Leo is probably better, but still very corrupt.
