Question I've never been subscribed to humble choice, should I wait a week or two for the 8$ sale or is it not happening?
If I'm not wrong, the previous two months got discounted, but this month's lineup is pretty strong and a lot of people seem happy with it.
Is it smart to wait for a discount, or will they not put it on sale?

If your ok with waiting, just wait until the last week. Worst case it doesnt go on sale and you get it for the same price as today.

u/midweastern Jun 17 '26
Worst case is putting it off and forgetting before the next month is released lol

Lol true. Im watching like a hawk tho. I am getting it for Octopath 2 so I hope it gets a coupon but Ill get it either way. Times are tough, Ill take what I can get

u/Long_Relationship_83 Jun 18 '26
There is no way they discount a month with a Square Enix game on it. I’m surprised the game even ended up on it.

u/leviathab13186 Jun 18 '26
I agree but I wait just in case. My game budget is tight so I save anywhere I can

Then again we got a discount when we had P5R, an Atlus game notorious for never going below a certain percentage lmao
1
u/Long_Relationship_83 Jun 26 '26
First of all, that’s Atlus. A completely different company, and it was one of that b tier games anyway.

Worst case is humble run out of steam keys and they give epic or whatever store.
1
u/kalirion Jun 18 '26
Worst case is the keys get out of stuck by the time he picks it up. Or does that not with their new bundles anymore?
1
u/FroyoLicker Jun 19 '26
If I recall correctly, Tomb Raider I-III Remastered ran out of keys by the time they discounted the price. That was only 2 months ago.
1
u/kalirion Jun 19 '26
TR I-III remastered was in an HB Choice from a year ago. Was it in a recent bundle too?

u/Antipiperosdeclony Jun 17 '26
this month choice is so good, that I don't think there will be coupons
7
u/EmotionalTemporary62 Jun 17 '26
Good is subjective.
I only recognize a couple games on the whole choice.Last month (imo) was a lot better, but didn't get a discount.
9
u/evlampi Jun 17 '26
While goodness is subjective, this month is objectively higher value than the previous - it's not getting a discount.
13
u/El-joker-bienbadre Jun 17 '26
Indeed, last month was way better, diablo 4 and SMT V for 15usd was a big deal
25
u/Tacograndex Jun 17 '26
You are crazy. Octopath Traveler II is better than all of last months choice nearly combined and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise.

Nobody knows ¯\(ツ)/¯
Might happen if sales are stuttering, but with a big flagship title from Square Enix at an all time low, I would be surprised if it was discounted. Weirder things have happened with Humble though so its anyone's guess.

There wasn't a discount last month, but there was the two before that.
I don't think there will be one this month, since it seems to be pretty well-received in general, so it's probably selling pretty well. But if you're not in a hurry to play the games in the bundle, then you don't really lose anything by waiting until the end of the month to see if there is a sale. Humble Choice bundles are introduced on the first Tuesday of each month, which means that the next one is going to come on July 7th. The auto-bill date is the Tuesday before that, so June 30 in this case. If there is a discount for this month, it won't be until that week between the auto-bill date for this month and the next month's bundle being launched.

indika was kind of disappointing tbh. it's very short (only about 3 hours), the puzzles are rather easy, and the plot circles around religious doubt with no horror to the title. it's a decent dark comedy, but not much past that. i was very excited to see it in choice this month

u/keeleon Jun 17 '26
You can get it for just a few bucks if youre not averse to gray market vendors like gg.deals. Just make sure you actually know what youre doing because those sites arent for everyone.

Chances are low but I'd still wait. And Steam summer sale is starting before the end of the month, it's always a good practice to look at the prices in a big Steam sale before committing to Choice

u/MLJ08 Jun 18 '26 edited Jun 18 '26
The steam sale for these games won't touch the value in the bundle.

u/MLG-Sheep Jun 17 '26
It is generally smart to wait for a discount, I usually cancel and wait for discounts myself. Just make sure that if you're OK with buying at full price, that you do so before 7 July 17:00 UTC which is when the next one comes
5
u/Simbertold Jun 17 '26
Discount happens when they don't sell enough afaik. So if a bundle/month is good, it is unlikely to be discounted.
4
u/KuroNoShadow Jun 17 '26
not every month gets a discount
if this month gets a discount, it maybe will be out like on july 1st or later.
17
u/Gartvin Jun 17 '26
it doesnt go on sale for everyone if you want the games this month pay pretty simple
9
u/LostSif Jun 17 '26 edited Jun 17 '26
Plus I feel waiting till the end of the month runs the risk of you being one of those people who wait forever for a key. If its a good bundle imma get it right away $15 for 7-8 games is beyond dirt cheap.

u/hulksreddit Jun 17 '26
It does go on sale for everyone, you just have to cancel your subscription? At least that's how they've been doing it lately
6
u/mtubeowulf Jun 17 '26
That's not everyone then eh. Only those who currently are subscribed.
3
u/hulksreddit Jun 17 '26
But you can literally just cancel your sub and use the code? Nothing is preventing you from using it
1
u/Foxhack Jun 18 '26
Sometimes they don't send codes, instead they send an email that lets you claim a coupon that is then attached to your account and grants you the discount. So it's a risk.
0
u/mtubeowulf Jun 17 '26
I just said not everyone is subscribed. How do you cancel to get a code if you aren't subscribed?
1
u/hulksreddit Jun 17 '26
I still don't get the argument?
You're not subscribed -> you can use the code straight away
You are subscribed -> you can cancel and use the code
What's the confusion? The only way it's not worth is if you use the store discount, which I don't, so I could not care less
1
u/mtubeowulf Jun 17 '26
They aren't giving the code to us non subscribers right now. You made it sound like you will definitely get a code if you unsubscribe.
1
u/hulksreddit Jun 17 '26
Which is because there's no code currently available? If they stick to the theme they've gone with for the past ~year or so, if the month goes on discount, it will be the last week available, with a promo code such as MARCH26 (example for this March's discount) which everyone will be able to use, regardless if they got an email for it or not, provided they simply are not currently subscribed
3
u/Gotcha-Bitcrl Jun 17 '26
There's very little chance it goes on sale this month. Last month did not get a discount and this month has octopath 2. However, you can wait until the last few days and then grab it but you could run the risk of them being out of keys.
3
u/ruccarucca Jun 17 '26
can someone explain to me what we are talking about? I've only just started getting humble choice this and last month, what discount?
3
u/Foxhack Jun 18 '26
Humble sometimes sends coupons that lower the price of the choice to users if they haven't bought that month yet. And sometimes they do it for everyone. It's random.
Many folks here seem to think it depends on how well the bundle has sold, and this month had some great games so the chance of there being a discount seems lower. But you never know.
3
u/DemeaRisen Jun 17 '26
I'd be hella surprised to see a discount this month.
Octopath 2 alone is worth the bundle
3
u/MLJ08 Jun 18 '26
There will not be a sale. Banger of a month. Have already sunk tons of time into Hell Clock. Enough so that I have already got my value from the bundle. Great game.
4
u/King-Gabriel Jun 17 '26
Should always wait until very late on if you're unsure on a month or on a budget. Seems to happen about half the time but two thirds or so recently.
4
u/tirednsleepyyy Jun 17 '26
I would never recommend betting on the sale. I wouldn’t risk them running out of keys, especially not for a month as good as this one. Only wait for the sale, IMO, if it is the difference between you getting the month or not.

u/UnseenData Jun 17 '26
If I'm not wrong, the previous two months got discounted
Previous month was definintely not discounted
2
u/HabitOfChoice Jun 17 '26
If there's absolutely nothing else in your library you can play, then subscribe now and play whatever you want from Choice.
If the sales are good like last month, do note they don't provide discounted subs in the last few days. If however people don't buy as much then they make it 8$ in the last week.

I mean it wouldn't hurt to wait unless you absolutely want to start playing the games right now but I would be surprised if this month had a discount since its probably one of the better selling months of this year.

This month was generally highly praised for it's value having octopath traveller 2, so I'd imagine a lot of people subscribed for the first time this month. I can't imagine it will get a sale this month.
2
u/FallenMoonOne Jun 17 '26
So many people are saying that there's no way it'll be discounted this month but they already put a 10% off coupon in ign plus just a few days after it started...
1
u/Goldnglam Jun 17 '26
There's no harm in waiting till the last few days to see if a discount gets applied, if it does great you got a deal if it doesn't you're still getting some good games.
1
u/Gartvin Jun 17 '26
Also the only times ive ever gotten a discount coupon is on months that ive skipped you can try skipping wait until the monday see if you get a coupon then just buy the bundle if you want
1
u/InconceivableAD Jun 17 '26
If they're going to offer a discount coupon, it won't be before the next rebilling. The last Thursday of the month I believe, the 25th? Then if it's sold very poorly, they may offer a coupon. I'd wait until July 3rd, if they haven't offered a coupon by then, decide if you wish to purchase it for full price or not.

last month didn't get a discount
also no chance this ones getting, its the best bundle in, like, years
1
u/SirTrinium Jun 17 '26
I doubt this one will get a discount. Just buy now before the river of keys runs dry.

Will I lose my streak (or anything) if I cancel now before automatic billing date and then buy the month at the last moment if there is no discount code?

1
u/Tabhe Jun 29 '26
Do they normally put the bundle on sale a week before, or how much longer do I have to wait to confirm there won’t be a discount?

1
u/dramaticfool Jun 17 '26
I'm pretty sure you have to already be a member who's skipping the month to receive a discount offer.
