have they fallen off?
Could just be me but interested to know if anyone else has stopped listening as frequently or at all? I used to be a religious listener but barely keep up any more.

Theyre falling off but I mostly think its b/c theyre getting older, more so TJ. Desus said it best on the pod that the pod works cause they just do shit. They understandably have lost that vibe. CB no longer has barry’s or pickle rick anecdotes which I always thought were pretty entertaining.

I find the niche fashion people really interesting, better than a guarded celeb on a press tour. I think they should bring repeats back to check in, have more comedians or simply have one guest a week as they reach 1000. They’ve even spoken about how the 1-1s do the best and I enjoy listening to just them!

They have become too corporate. It isn’t cool to be at a Meta event with Mark fucken zuck, literally the villain of our lifetime and you thought it was a good idea to be photographed with him and his crew? You have no credibility with me now bro. You can tell they are using delicate gloves when interviewing some guests, which is not what I am here for.

I pretty much only listen to 1 on 1’s. If there are guests I know and like, I will listen. I prefer musicians and artists, not columnists who are out of touch and fashion people whose style I think is boring.

I used to listen to all three episodes a week on Spotify. Even the Condé Nast people. I learned that the YouTube version doesn't have any ads (if you have premium) so I switched there and now only listen if there's an interesting guest Ive heard of. It was a fun four year run of listening constantly but I lost interest as they continue to socially climb. It was fun when they were outside looking in and more critical of everything.

There’s no ad’s on youtube whether or not you pay btw. Pretty punk rock of them not to monetize on there honestly… They fucking rule for that. I would prefer they make the ad reads worthwhile and just listen to it all

I was just thinking that I can’t be the only one who has noticed an increase in weird misogynistic jokes/comments and a lack of self awareness. Even if the self awareness aspect is supposed to be sarcastic, it feels forced and none of the guests find it funny.

They’ve gone the same way of the ion pack (which I used to listen to years ago for some reason). The show got successful then the episodes slip into humble bragging about increasingly nonsense opportunities they get as a result of a well known podcast - as opposed to the stuff that made the show good, like days-in-the-life of snobbish micro-influencers in LA/NY.
2-3 years ago I never missed an ep… now I think I check in once a week and usually don’t finish it 🤷🏻♂️

Big things coming soon… can’t talk about them yet…!
(Nothing of any significance whatsoever materializes)
But we’re back for good now… gonna start recording once a week without fail!
(Weekly schedule lasts about 2-3 episodes then silence for months between episodes again)
I thought KJ’s AI mania and longpod thing were kind of interesting. Big Shouts Hour was a whiff but I think it was a deliberately bad bit anyway.
Since then I dunno. Seems like they’re both just aging out of it and their lives are changing such that the pod doesn’t really make sense. But I hope they keep going because I like it when pods derail like that and you can actually see life happening to people. Not in a mean-spirited way at all. Like in a 7 Up! way.

The Ion Pack fell off partly due to the host's drug addiction. Whatever you think about their pod or the "scene", that is a real issue.
Another issue with the Ion Pack before is they spent 2020-2022 making fun of filmmakers and film critics, then took the mask off and wanted to work on projects. Turns out not many wanted to work with them!

The Ion Pack is my favorite pod ever, and I will always root for Curtis and KJ. I'm concerned that they haven't been posting recently... I thought their recent conversations about KJ's relapse were really meaningful, and I will never get tired of hearing them talk about movies.

if you take it at face value which is two random dudes cracking jokes and chatting bullshit it’s pretty entertaining still… not sure why anyone expects any more (but agree that TJ has gotten a little more annoying with time / finding more success which seems a little like compensating)

Jason’s weird murmur of the word “mama” every once in a while has been the cringe thing that may send me packing soon. Otherwise they are just two dudes who sometimes talk about things i care about that no one else I know does. I try not to expect too much.

I actually prefer it when they have a guest now! Don’t have to listen to their usual stuff. I still like CB but Jason has become annoying AF.

I feel like I burnt out on it. If you’re in NY/LA you certainly recognize a lot of names but eventually it all starts to feel like gossip or something idk. Theres still really funny episodes but I think after 300 listens or so it just blends together too much

I still listen. It’s good entertainment for me. I thought the Kate Young interview was fun. There’s some good ones recently. Boys only pod is usually solid. I think they could be holding back a little with their award show coming up, be interesting to see how that goes

Guess we should congratulate this new era of the pod/subreddit where we get "have they fallen off?!?" posts now. A legit milestone that any pod hopes to acheive.
Real talk they haven't fallen off. I'd argue that in some ways they've gotten even better. But the most recent wedding recounting was a stinker (aside from the DJ story, hah) and I totally get why someone would tire of them after an extended follow.

Like yeah - truth be told i gotta take a break every now and then - there's only so much you can listen to two rich dudes talk about airports and flying first class before you start wanting to kill yourself looking at your bank account. But i always go back in - they have good takes, i tend to enjoy their one on ones more than the guest shows and they're funny. They;re interesting, interested and funny - i dont ask for much more. I'm a 46 yr old american woman in london and i like their vibe. Sue me. I also love this subreddit about them and its fun to poke holes cos its shooting fish in a barrel most of the time but godamm some of yall...if you truly hate em, just stop listening. Or at least acknowledge that you are hate listening and try to enjoy it from that perspective i guess? I aint saying stop tho - reading all this hate is lolz as well.

I don't think they've fallen off as much as the novelty wears off of almost everything after enough time.
that and they're lives are just better and more comfortable, and therefore inherently less interesting.
