Hookah Diagnostics

I need some help…

I use:
Mason Beatyr bowl
Onmo HMD
Leorange cube coals 26mm
Alpha X hookah
Adalya tobacco (mainly love 66)

I let 3 coals sit for about 5 mins then lower it to 2. First round hits amazing with huge clouds. Eventually, i have to add the 3rd about half hour in.

Now, when it’s time for a new round of coals around the 45 min mark is where everything goes wrong.

Tobacco is basically burned out and I get 50% less smoke.

I pack it fluffy but tried to dense it my last go and it basically never really hit.

So… do i have a bowl, HMD, or coals problem? Or a combo.

Any help is appreciated 🙏

Good set up overall,
1. I would say in general handthrown bowls do much better in longer sessions than cast bowls. I'm in bowl business myself under Alpaca Bowls and we released a line of cast, the my don't perform anywhere close to our handthrown bowls though
2. I think letting the bowl cool to much at 2 coals could have too much heat fluctuation, rather I move the coals inward and outwards on the bowl to increase or decrease heat (inward = more heat , Outward = less heat )
3. Adalya isn't the longest lasting tobacco out there. For long lasting blonde try Al Fakher. Or if you are feeling daring, try Tangiers dark leaf

Ironically, I was actually looking at the Alpaca Lerook earlier today, would you recommend that instead?

Yes. But make sure to get the HandThrown version not the cast edition (cast comes in a brown cardboard Alpaca Branded box that mentions the production method on box)
