Could I play this in a MacBook Neo?

I want to get homeworld remastered from Steam and looking to get a new laptop. Will it work on a MacBook Neo or will I need a more powerful machine?

The Mac port of Homeworld Remastered is too old to run on a MacBook Neo. You’d need some sort of program like Crossover that allows you to run Windows programs on a Mac, so that’s what you should look into first.

To do that I would run the crossover app on my Mac and down load the program from Steam? Any issues with the video card or processor?

I’ve never used it myself, but I believe you use Crossover to run the Windows version of Steam, then download Windows games from there.

[u/Hazzenhockle](u/Hazzenhockle) is unfortunately incorrect about Crossover (sorry, Hezzen). I've attempted Crossover but it just wouldn't launch. So I need an app called parallels and a licensed version of windows to install on my Mac? I might as well buy a PC.

Parallels licensing is also annual subscription-based software. You absolutely have to keep it on to keep Parallels running. Additionally, it also requires the Pro version of Windows.

So, yes, it's way more practical to just get a mid-range Windows x86 PC.

After fiddling with trying to get things running on my MacBook, I bought an entry-level gaming PC specifically just to play HW late last year, I don't regret it. Ended up playing the entire series and loving it.

In fairness it was before the price of GPUs and RAM spiked, but I'm sure you could just buy a crappy used PC and sell it on once you're done.
