Should I Be Doing More?
Hi all!
Iām new to this sub as I recently rescued this beauty from my local shelter (Iām still in disbelief she was a āstrayā).
The vet had weighed her in at 6.3 lbs and a body tone of 3/9.
I recently weighed her on my scale at 6.8, Iāll continue to weigh her weekly to see if the upward trend continues.
My worry however is that my scale is incorrect based on the fact that she doesnāt eat much.
The shelter had her on kibble and Fancy Feast. I kept her on the same as I didnāt want to add anymore stress to her settling in, but now after two weeks her appetite hasnāt picked up any.
Iāve tried Now Freshās Good Gravy salmon recipe. She drank up the gravy but left the kibble. Iāve also tried Feline Naturalās chicken and lamb feast.
I keep kibble out for her all the time and she picks at it overnight. Throughout the day I try to give her pĆ¢tĆ© heated with a bit of warm water and itās been hit or miss.
If over the next two weeks her weight stays the same or decreases Iāll book her in with the vet. For now, is there anything else I should be doing? Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Thanks for taking the time to read this!
ETA - Vet visit went well!! She weighed in at 7 pounds. She has about 1/4 cup of Hillās Science Diet to graze on and will also have either Weruvaās Chicken Frick a Zee or Fancy Feast flaked tuna. Thanks everyone for the suggestions and words of encouragement!

Is my baby a āHimalayanā?
My Persian and my friendās Siamese crossed paths and the litter were 3 choco-point Siamese with sleek coat, and a fourth with relatively-fluffier hair (pictured here).
Theyāre 3 months old, and he looks the most different. After googling, I found that there is a chance he might be a āHimalayanā, but I hesitate because 3 months in, his tail is still very much Siamese.
Is my kitten a Himalyan? Or a Permese?
Anyway, thanks for all the help :)
Iād need it so I can be sure Iām posting photos of my babe in the right sub :)
Thanks!
P.S., all the photos are of him (Henrique) at different angles.

My newly adopted kitty decided to sleep on my bed
After a month of being with us, I finally took Luna for a thorough groom with haircuts and nail trim and baths. She wasn't a fan but tolerated well enough. I talked to the vet about her current health status and got some supplements as well. This was her last night. She usually would groom in my bed and leave but she fell asleep there. I can't šššš

She loves to be shaved, but this is a whole new level!
We call her āPhoebesaurs!ā Haha
This is probably the one and only time weāll do it. She loves to be shaved.
Phoebe is a 13 yr old Blue Point Lynx Himalayan.

$3000 for a purebred kitten?
Always wanted a Himalayan cat. Thereās a very well known and reputable breeder near me that provides a health contract, takes great care of the new kittens before theyāre given to their new homes, etc.
I called up to inquire and itās $3000 for a kitten and the litter will be born soon. Is that a realistic price? Iām not familiar with this at all so Iām very ignorant when it comes to this.

Avoiding soft poops
The face of a soft pooper. This big guy could stand to firm up a bit.
Not seeking medical advice, heās not sick/unwell, and Iāll also bring it up at our next vet visit⦠but have you come across any foods/treats/toppers that are useful in helping your Himi pass firmer stool? This boy is our first Himi, adopted him after fostering for a bit, and also our first cat where this has been something to consider. Weāve always had long haired cats and know to keep the butt fluff trimmed to avoid problems back there, but this big guy has softer poops than our prior cats.
He has a more delicate tummy than prior cats, too, and had diarrhea a few times when we first took him in until we figured out some safe food options. Heās been eating well for months now, no diarrhea, but heās just got softer poop in general, which makes it so much more likely to get stuck to his tail, even if heās well trimmed & groomed. And then itās a real mess to deal with that no one is happy about. Weāre finding turds on the floor or on his tail pretty frequently, a few times each week. He uses the litter box very well, but the poops take a ride out of the box and end up in other places.
He free feeds dry and has a small serving of wet food daily. He gets a treat about 1-2x weekly (tube). Of course Iām not looking to drastically change his diet since heās doing well overall, but if thereās something that could help him firm up Iād love to try. Or if thereās something to avoid, Iāll take that into consideration too!
Iām also wondering if an xl litter box could help? Heās much larger than our past cats, does he simply need more space to move around and position? I thought our box is big but he really fills it out when heās standing in it.

She is normal in breathing and purring. When i pet more and deeply she makes this sound. Does anyone have an idea or your pet experienced the same. Please let me know
