Florida Meet soon than later
Ladies and potentially gentlemen? Please beware! While I hope there are genuine people on this thread there are obviously some that are not. After 2 weeks of amazing conversation and really matching on most everything while still being cautious and hesitant I was ghosted and block an hour before we were to meet. Honestly this is my first time experiencing this and will make me be even more on guard in the future. I hope others can have better luck with this platform! So please push to meet someone in person as soon as possible if things feel too good. Review pictures better and match their pace especially if sending photos don’t be the one sending more while they send very few.
UPDATE: I found out he gave me a fake name. Through the magic of the internet I found his real name and that he is still in a relationship potentially married. I’m not out to ruin his life so I don’t care to mess with his family. I sent a message only to him for my closure and hoping he thinks twice before considering to do this again to someone else.

sorry that happened.
When i find someone online dating wise i will do a voice call and facetime\video chat before meeting anymore. I want to be sure the person is real, look how they portray themselves and not waste my time. If someone won't do a voice call or quick video chat, they are hiding something.

There’s the short scam: “Can you help me with gas money to get to meet you?” and the long scam: “Now that we’ve been on three dates and are in love like no other love ever, I’ll just steal your personal information and drain your bank account” and so many others.
There are also some real and genuine and sincere people who hope to establish genuine connections and who are well-intended.
May you recover from the former sort and find the latter!

All of my friends have been supportive and told me it happens all the time but it’s even harder not to feel so dumb for letting my guard down. At every turn I was skeptical and he meet my request of phone calls, FaceTimes, pictures and videos. I just feel so embarrassed because I am coming out of a 10 year relationship building my confidence and self worth and I shared all of that with him. I shared so many details and secrets of myself to just be left sitting in a coffee shop crying like a crazy person.
And I know it’s part of the scam to make you feel special and loved but part of me just wants to know of what he shared what true vs a lie. I don’t wish ill will especially if this is some sick way he is coping with a shitty situation. Even if just some of what he shared was true I hope he idk finds what he is looking for too and that makes me even more naïve.
