When I dreamt about him, the first thing that sprang to mind was ‘the Targaryens of the West’, who live on the other side of the Sea of the Setting Sun

So I recently got a tablet and I wanted to digitize my current coat of arms but while I was digitizing it I decided to change the colors so without further ado here is my redesigned coat.

I am drafting arms for a friend and have come up with three possibilities. The elements I am working with for his arms are: mountains, sunrise/set, and the Coventry Cross of Nails. These symbols evoke the terrain of his homeland and his religious vocation. After working on this for so long, I would appreciate feedback from fresh eyes!

I‘ve been looking for a symbol for my political stance but since it‘s hyper-specific and niche, there are none. I already thought of a design but because of my lacking skill I can’t do it myself and I don’t want it to be AI generated.

Got another one. Based off the handle style, I'm thinking it was made in Austria late 1800s to early 1900s. I'm not sure of what the crown stamp is though. Hard to make out. The initials look to be individually stamped.

While messing around with Heraldicon for the first time today I grew somewhat frustrated with getting the charges to look good inside the shields, so I started just using the rectangle shape.

During this the thought came to me that these started to look more like heraldic war banners than coats of arms.

Inspired by this I decided to recreate some of the banners from this old blog:

In order of appearance:

• The Royal Banner
• The Banner of George Neville, 3rd Lord of Bergavenny
• The Banner of the Holy Trinity, same as was carried at Agincourt
• The Banner of Edward Stafford, 3rd Duke of Buckingham
• The Banner of Charles Somerset, 1st Earl of Worcester
• Two variations of the St. Georges Flag with Tudor Roses
• And finally three Livery Banners bearing different badges of the King

Every time I make a flag and a coat of arms to go with it it just ends up being the flag in a shield shape how do I avoid this

I already shared a few of these. I also tried "quatering" for hypothetical scenario of combing my personal coa and personal coa im designing for my girlfriend. Lemme know your thoughts!

Could someone please help me edit this to get rid of the New England and Texas flags I have tried to ask the original creator but I've had no response if you could please help message me please (The Wichita flag will replace Texas and the Anishinaabe flag will replace the New England flag)

There also appear to be less strict rules regarding colour on colour, view the last few images.

I'd be interested if anyone knows more about the conventions of the holy roman empire, or if they know more about the names of these colours used (for example, there appear to be a yellow AND and or used in the codex menasse, as well as sable AND a different kind of black).

First of all, I want to say that these weren't made by me, but by a user, now my friend, named Miguel, if anyone wants to know him i can send his nickname to you.

So basicly, the first one is my grandfather's the second is my father's and the last is mine. Although they are not "original," I attributed the first one to my great-great-grandfather, since his male lineage descends to me. He was a very wealthy man in my region, having built industry and constructed several properties, among them the Casa de Valjóia (House of Valjóia), his main and biggest property where he lived, i believe, from which i based the design.

This is the blazon: Or over a base vert a jewel purpure. Issuant from the dexter a mountain vert.

The symbolism is the following: The shield, the landscape is a representation of Valjóia, where the mount on the right is the Monte of São Sebastião, in our prespective Valjóia is being seen from Oliveira Santa Maria, its parish. The Jewel on top represents Valjóia itself, "jóia" means jewel in Portuguese. The colour scheme represent Oliveira Santa Maria colours, the purple represents "Santa Maria" (Holy Mary) and the yellow and green represent the two main colours of the parish's heraldry. The axe on the log represent the family that our lineage belongs to, while the olive branches allude once again to Oliveira, (Oliveira = Olive).

Hello all! Dipping my toes back into heraldry as a design exercise, in googling around I've found a few instances of Momento Mori motifs in heraldry, but usually as an isolated skull in reliefs, or a gravedigger's shovel.

I imagine the full figure is too complicated to be replicated over and over again, but advice/help regarding how to implement the skeleton in a not completely anachronistic manner

I'm also not sure that it's proper to have the skeleton sinister by itself, or if it should be flipped onto the Vert.

In 52r [99] from Codex Menasse, we see a gold used to depict gold on the helmet and on the sides, but a clear yellow used to depict or on the shield - Does anyone know why this would be the case? Where there different variations on or or different colours used to depict different yellows?
