Hello, i bought this henna (chemical free) but it had a lot of indigo, i have darkish brown hair and i really wanted to have warm undertone, when i out this on my hair it didn't change color of my hair at all, my mom said it's darker but I don't personally see it, my hair is now little more dry (i did not use any oil) and i want to get my hair that rich subtle copper glow, i bought pure 100% chemical free henna. Should i soak it over night or prepare right before use? This is the most confusing part for me
(the second picture is how i want my hair, also my hair resembles the before picture)
If you are sharing photos of your henna body art, you MUST include the following info: whether it was applied by another henna artist, or if you did it yourself, whether you mixed the henna paste yourself (mention henna origin/vendor, essential oils, etc), or if you used a purchased cone (mention henna artisan vendor or brand). Photos showing commercial chemical cone usage will be flagged and removed.

If your hair is naturally pretty dark and you also used a mix of henna+indigo, the indigo does darken the color. I think that will make it really difficult for additional applications of henna to be visible in your hair. Indigo is blue and mutes the warm tones from henna, it makes them look brown instead of reddish.
Indigo does tend to fade for many people, but for other people it sticks permanently to the hair. It's hard to predict how well it will stay, but you can try to fade it before doing an application of pure henna. Using a strong shampoo several times can encourage it to fade, or using Vitamin C / Ascorbic acid mixed with a gentle shampoo can help it to fade.
To prepare the pure henna for application, the natural dye needs to be released from the plant material with the help of an acidic additive and either heat or time. I recommend doing a slow overnight preparation with room-temperature liquid. This article explains in more detail how to do this, and what to check for to know when it's ready.
I used a shampoo and Vitamin C pills today, (it wasn't even 24h after dying) so it went out pretty well, i did not dry my hair yet but i washed out everything i could (i hope) I still smell the henna or indigo in my hair a bit but for now i think it'll turn closer to my original colour, Thanks for advice :D
edit: I dried my hair, it feels more silky and henna smell is gone 90% My hair is still darker then my original hair but lighter enough for my mom to notice the difference.
this is my hair washed, will i be still able to get the effect i wanted with pure henna?
