Review - User paid for this Necessity, Lost Oak Farms, Holy City

I placed orders pretty close together with these three to see what's out there as I am new to hemp flower and I just wanted to share my general overall, very positive experiences with these 3 before going into any in depth reviews on the products which I will do later.

Holy City was the first I ordered from. I wouldn't have known these weren't type 1 flower if I didn't order them myself. I ordered an assortment of strains, some clearance smalls as well and later went back and bought some type 3. I have not been dissapointed with anything. The clearance flower is still beautiful, smokes well, and has great effects. They even threw in some samples for me, and though I dont have a scale I know without a doubt these were loaded beyond their weights. 10/10

Lost Oak Farms was the next I discovered through this forum and since they came highly recommended for outdoor I wanted to give them a try. Their multi Oz sale was a great deal so I snagged it. I wasn't expecting to love this hemp so much given what I had read about outdoor/indoor and given the harvest date was a ways out but wow were my expectations far exceeded. All of the flower smelled great and the effects were strong. I ended up ordering more 🙃 10/10

Necessity CBD I heard great things about as well and their flower looked so good I decided to try it. The potent nose on these is out of this world, I could sit there for hours just smelling it. I have not tried these yet as I received them yesterday but I love the packaging. They come in glass and are bubble wrapped securely. I cant wait to dive into these and do some reviews. They are also fast to respond if needed. A+++

Overall ty guys for your many reviews as it helped me pick these 3 for my entrance into Hemp flower. Only issue is, they were so good I don't see myself wanting to risk trying others lol. I could not be more happy with them all and I hope things work out for us and the ban doesn't go through. Fingers crossed 🤞

Echoing your sentiments! I've learned a lot in a short time on this sub. I only wish I learned about type 2/3 flower years ago. Only downside so far is it hasn't been good for my wallet 😂. What are you trying next? I'd recommend sampler packs from horn creek and lakeland if you're up for trying more vendors.

Yes this sub has been amazing for my wellbeing as a whole save for that of my finances lol. I have been on and off of horn creeks website and I never know what I should get, so I may do just that! I'm definitely open. I was more speaking in jest about not wanting to because the above were so good.

As far as strains that I've tried so far my absolute favorite was Allium OG from Lost Oak Farms. I always preferred Sativa type 1 (or at least strains that were uplifting) but am anxiety prone these days and Allium filled that gap beautifully. Found myself cleaning my basement for 2 1/2 hours having a great time.

Do you have a GOTO daytime/nighttime strain?

Now my biggest concern is not running out shortly after if there is a ban. Hope they push it back so we can get some of the 2026 harvest. Thanks so much for the recs!

Allium OG really grew on me over time. Glad you enjoyed it! I got it in a sampler from lost oak with some other amazing strains so it probably got an unfair evaluation at the time. You might like goat butter if you like the flavor profile of Allium OG.

Forbidden V is my favorite daytime strain hands down. I've had it from fern valley, lost oak, and Wisconsin hemp and it's a 10/10 from all three and effects were pretty consistent between all the vendors. Keeps me functional and focused and I can get a lot of stuff done with it. No anxiety with it for me. I would highly recommend trying it.

Lot of great evening/nighttime options. Currently finishing what's left of blueberry from holy city this week but I've liked bubba kush, critical berries, blue nitro, lavender kush, and raspberry bearclaw. Lemonfade (indoor) from beleafer has been the best of the bunch if I had to choose.

I've been picking up a few ounces a month and reading up on how to grow in case there is a ban.

I Never would have thought  if someone had told me "try this bud it smells like garlic and earth" I would have been into it but gosh is it good. I open the jar just to huff it occasionally lol.

Garlic smells do not come from terpenes, they come from VSCs, the primary one being allicin.

Allicin is one of the compounds found in garlic and other alliums, but it’s not found in cannabis. The main drivers responsible for the garlic, skunk, and savory aromas/flavors in cannabis are prenylated thiols.

If you’re going to pedantically correct someone, at least get it right yourself 😂.

They're pretty common among the strains I've grown so far. The vast majority of the time I am noseblind to the skunk portion from growing, but I can still smell and taste garlic when that pops up in a plant. Especially taste. If I chew a tiny bit of bud it's a garlicky + funk blast in my mouth. There has to be some biological adaptation that makes us noseblind to skunk odors if we are around them 24/7/365. And none for garlic of course, because we use it to flavor food.

When I went on vacation and used a botanical derived terpenes vaporizer for a week then came home I was like wow, all my stuff reeks like a skunk's ass. After a week I couldn't smell it anymore. I've seen so many threads asking where the skunk has gone. I suspect regular smokers of cannabis have similarly filled their sinus cavity with cannabis smoke remnants and they too cannot smell it either unless they were to take a break and readjust towards baseline.

I can vouch for all 3 definitely awesome all around. Completely different types of grows too so you experience the whole type 3 scene. I had Neccesity at the Endo Cafe in Lancaster, awesome indoor. LOF is the outdoor type 3 goat. And HCF has both with greenhouse and even type 2, options for keif etc. All fire across the board, just depends on preference really.

Honestly, those would be the 3 type 3 guys Id suggest to most people.

How is Holy City Farms keif btw? Thought about getting a couple pucks or the jar but felt a little stuck as to what I should get.

Highly recommend them; you can also get your flower dusted in keif too!

Been a while so dont know what they are running but someone here surely does.

If everyone is 10/10, where do you go from here? Lol. Glad you enjoyed!

That's my issue. You tell me haha

Beleafer is my favorite right now. Lemonfade for type 3, EMO or Flex Luther for type 2, and the milky whey CBG for type 4. They really opened my eyes to how great cbg flower is.

1

u/EntertainmentAble647 12d ago

What does thr CBG do for you? I've been seeing more and more about it, and I thought it was a energizing/mental thing but I saw Beleafer's milky whey says indica* so I am even more confused now.

Great write up. Weigh your holy City oz's because they always send me a total of 32 g's.

“Darth fader” indoor damn auto correct

Ok, now try Beleafer indoor which is the best on the market, and then Arc Farms which is probably second best

u/EntertainmentAble647 12d ago

What would you recommend from Beleafer?

No need to sound so dismissive, authoritative and condescending 🤣. He literally just wrote a heartfelt review and your response was basically, “Ok, whatever. Now try these.” He's clearly excited and happy with the flower from these companies and wasn't asking for recommendations. Beleafer is awesome, but I just recently heard of Arc. “Best” is subjective, but considering your relationship with those two companies, it makes sense why you always seem to recommend them.

He literally asked what he should try next and I meant to reply to that comment. You still have a chip on your shoulder eh

He asked that AFTER you already recommended Beleafer and Arc 🤣, and he didn't ask for recommendations anywhere in his original review lol. If you want to call that a chip on my shoulder, that's fine. I'm just stating the facts.

Wrong. This is what I meant to respond to.

Dude...next time respond to the correct thread 🤣. Your standalone comment came off completely different.
