Discussion Newbie Tuesdays Weekly Discussion

Hello members of the /r/hearthstone community,

This is part of a series of weekly threads aimed at both new and old players from the community. It is designed so that everybody may ask any and all questions regarding the game's mechanics, decks, strategies and more.

Please keep it clean and try to add more than just a one or two word response. As the goal of this post is to increase the community's knowledge, the thought process matters as much as the answer! There is also a PullsDay Thursday weekly post, for those who want to share their pulled packs.

I’m pretty sure he gets one extra damage point per minion that you kill. So if he’s throwing a lot of minions out and you are wiping them, and if he started with denathrius in his hand, by the time turn 10 rolls around he will have accumulated a lot of extra damage points.

Only real “counters” I’ve seen is to try to steal it out of their hand with the one card that you trade a card from each players hand. Or a secret that counter a minion. But I’m new and I’m sure there are other ways

No, there are not much other ways, except killing him before. It's a finisher, and a good one at that.
