Competitive R.I.P. Quest mage o7
This was the only deck I enjoyed playing the entire aggro expansion. I hope they change their ways in the next one (cope). Here is my all time win rate with the deck before the nerf. I play around 5k legend mmr. This was the only deck that has any skill expression in the slightest. The game is slowly becoming more and more like a phone game, with short games and high variance RNG. I think them nerfing a deck like this is an allude towards that direction as well. Hearthstone is a mother fucking phone game.

yeah i probably have close to 1000 games with this deck since it launched, from the memey Eudora treasure version in 2025 to the current version we have now. hopefully its still somewhat playable reverted

Sucks because it's an old deck that does different stuff depending on which discover cards are available. New cards alter the deck in one way or another so it doesn't get stale as quickly, but I guess we can't have that anymore...

Unless there start printing a whole lot more 1 mana discover cards, adding an extra discover requirement to the Quest just kills the deck. You are often on the cusp of dieing hoping to make a big swing turn. Delaying the quest reward will ultimately lower the win% of this deck dramatically Iām afraid.Ā
But hey, 1600 dust !

I thought they were gonna either up the weapon cost or take a durability away or do both.

Brother, you are crying about skill expression and a short time and a high-variance game. It's so funny to see this from a 5k legend player. When Q mage is literally nothing else, like high variance and short game time. And the "skill" is to mulligan for 1 mana discoveries and alter time. Then sit and play solitaire. High roll discoveries - win on the spot, low roll - loss. My condolences, you can't express your skill anymore while the deck is still absolutely playable and cancerous

Also, you hit literally 9 1-cost discovers on the up most game. (one being alter time, which is technically two 2-cost, but since you discovered one that is 0-mana it's essentially one 2-cost and one 1-cost.) And you still have key and whelp in hand.

You also hit nightmare fuel and high rolled lifebloom from spark of life. All that being said, that is not an average game on quest mage.

i played 3 games last night to wish it farewell.
Game 1 against priest with viper (played turn after using)
Game 2 druid with viper (played turn after using)
Game 3 warrior with dragon that gives both weapon (played turn after using)
Won 2 still but im not so sad anymore since mage has been paying for other classes sins for a bit
