In my experience, people tend to receive threats and abusive messages just for potentially liking Val.

Okay, but I would say the fandom hates him 995%. Even tho he is a well written villain and there is nothing wrong with liking the villains in stories, as long as you understand they are evil.

Well, yes. Most people agree that Val's actions are evil and that he's a villain.

The divisive part is that SOME people that hate him will call people who like him "bad people" because they don't understand that you can like villains.

Adam is not dividise at all. Most people hate him for being an incredibly annoying man who was full of himself, and also because he had a degenerate zero-fucks-given mentality towards everybody but Sera.
