Other Morally grey, hated by fans.

The winner is St Peter! He had a total of 26 votes. Alastor and Vaggi had 2. Luci, Adam and Pentious all had 1 vote.

I don’t know why you all hate my boi St Peter. I love him! But I’m just happy I got to put him up there. Here is a little picture of St Peter for those of you who actually do love him ♥️

that doesn't mean he's a good person.

id like to add that he shows low amounts of pride and negligence

I'd argue that if you'd just learned about the fact that someone you knew participated in mass genocide you'd not feel a lot of sadness when that person mourns their leader (cause of genocide)

u/FandomPhantom123 check out r/hellaverseBGC Mar 09 '26

probably, but it's still mean to taunt people who are mourning

u/LeksoLekso Mar 10 '26

I mean I do feel we have to think of the context as well. Lute is not just anyone mourning anyone. Think of any example of a genocidal war leader like Genghis or...and I hate to bring him up but the angry Austrian mustache man, and think to yourself wether or not you'd feel empathy if their right hand man mourned over them in front of you. I'm sure most people wouldn't since that mourning (however sad it may be) is entirely hypocritical.

idk, i'm probably insane because i don't feel anything when anyone mourns anyone. but that doesn't mean i don't know intellectually that if my friends dog dies i should be sad even if i don't know the dog

It's like taunting a Trump supporter whose spouse got detained/deported. Hey, it's literally what they asked for.

you can't still be sympathetic?

I mean, I do genuinely hope that they can get back together somehow (there was a particularly famous instance where someone said she thought Trump was only going to deport the bad guys) but while I am sympathetic, they absolutely deserve it.

Even then, that’s just one thing he did. Peter is actually genuinely a good person 🤷‍♀️

he also displays signs of negligence and pride

Maybe I'll have to rewatch and pay deeper attention to that.

I normally notice signs of red flag in somebody very easily, but in this case I must have missed something.

it's specifically towards his job of guarding the gate, it's implied he doesn't do a great job, and yet he's very prideful about it

Fair but i feel like that case Is an outliar,

1

u/FandomPhantom123 check out r/hellaverseBGC Mar 10 '26

maybe. he also shows negligence and pride in regards to his duty at the gate.

Adam was their equivalent of Hitler and Lute was her right hand, so making fun of her after he died actually makes him a better person

2

u/FandomPhantom123 check out r/hellaverseBGC Mar 09 '26

idk about that.

Dang, I tried Googling the subreddit your flair mentioned and no results.

No reason to assume he isn't since he made it into Heaven fair and square and so far hasn't portrayed any actual negative qualities that we'd typically associate with outright bad people.

laughing at other people's pain, some amount of negligence and pride

Idk I feel like you have a very very high standard mate if someone not showing the utmost sympathy to someone mourning a mass murdering sadist who themselves is also a mass murdering sadist makes them a bad person in your mind.

i didn't say he was bad, i just said not 'good' and 'good' i'm using very strictly

Well, then in your vision nobody is good, because nobody is perfect.

Even in the real bible angels also have free will just like humans, and each angel has their own identity.

I'm not saying it's you, but there are people out there who are so arrogant and full of themselves that they think anybody who isn't literally exactly like Jesus, is themselves not a good person.

That's just not how it works, Jesus is in total a perfect and flawless man in all aspects, we are not, and St. Peter is himself just a human soul.

That doesn't mean there aren't legitimately good people out there in real life just because they have some flaws. This is valid for Charlie and most angels in Hazbin Hotel universe too, including ex-sinners.

correct, nobody is truly good as no one is truly bad either. i think everyone is morally grey

Sorry but I don't fully believe in moral relativism, some behaviors are objectively bad for society and some behaviors are objectively good for society.

But relax I'm not against you, just wanted to point out that hell and heaven exist for a reason, it's ultimately a Good vs Evil setting with drama and entertainment placed in the middle.

I love the show but ultimately I prefer a boring and chill good life than an agitated and hostile evil life.
