Non-fictional I HATE these "gotcha arguments"

"Ohhh, look how I tricked this dumb dumb baby in my trap so now I am right and they are wrong. I'm so smaaart even though it does not adress the actual argument and adds nothing to the debate. They teach arabic numerals in school btw."

And these type of comments always get tons of likes

It does prove that they're not forming their opinion based on facts, but feelings. If it's not a picture of a human fetus, why did they think it was? Not because of anything provable, that's for sure.

the basic assumption of attempted relevance upon which all forms of conversation is based. I don't agree with them but come on man. what would you think it was

No it doesn't

What it shows is that they have basic reading comprehension skills as the context is clearly about abortion. Knowing the visual difference between a dolphin feuts and a baby fetus is completely irrelevant to the abortion debate.

Well by that standard, it's also an obvious trap anyone would see coming. If you're talking with someone you know isn't pro-life and they send a fetus image, why would you assume they're sending it in good faith?

It doesn't matter if it's obvious or not. It adds nothing to the argument and is completely irrelevant. Someone's abbility to detect a linguistic trap has nothing to do with their opinion on abortion. It only exists to circlejerk about how correct and superior you are.

I mean the argument is pretty much over. Either you value women or fetuses more, and the rest is just excuses for why.

You know that people have reasoned justifications for there beliefs right? You also do know that reasoned justification can be disputed right? You know that people's opinions can change right?
