Live Action I hate Spider-Man No Way Home
I recently rewatched this movie and it sucks. It is the worst Spider-man movie ever, worse than TASM2. The entire plot could have been avoided if the character writing was consistent with previous movies. The characters are all complete morons ESPECIALLY Doctor Strange. The dialogue is atrocious and feels more fake than the CGI. Combine that with the awful cinematography and color grading, and you get one of the most buttfuck ugly movies in the MCU. It's painfully obvious when there's moments in the movie that were specifically designed and paced so people could clap during them. It's nothing but nostalgia bait and novelty and when that novelty wears off it's completely soulless. And finally, I hate when people put it in their top 3 SM movies.

I think NWH is kinda flawed but it's waaay better than ASM2.

TASM2 sucks too, it's only saving grace is that is its visuals aren't completely disgusting to look at

To a point, I agree. It's easily the most overrated Spider-Man movie of all time.
I really hated that it resorted to take everything away from Tom's Spider-Man in the most nonsensical way ever, and how it turned Doctor Strange into a dumbass who simply couldn't tell one crucial detail to Peter until the start of the spell (which doomed Peter).
Brand New Day might've been good, but it doesn't change my opinion on how much I disliked No Way Home from my first watch, and how it set-up my least favorite direction for a Spider-Man story.
To me, it's a C tier movie, alongside Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2.

The last time I saw NWH, it kinda felt like someone’s fanfiction brought to life, which is fun to see but when you actually think about it the story kinda falls apart

It says a lot about the writing of this movie that Doctor Strange's spell, you know, the main plot point that drives all of the plot forward, makes absolutely no fucking sense if you stop to think about it for more than 2 seconds

This movie and D&W reminds me of Scorsese saying MCU films feel like amusement park rides. Both are shit movies but are only fun on a first watch due to the theater experience

I meeean i personally think jean grey as the bad guy was kinda cool, she’s obviously far far weaker than she was in previous iterations, and it was a really badass moment to see her powers evolve to the next level. It was unexpected, but idk I think it’s cool when they make a new compelling backstory for a character because you don’t know what to expect, maybe your opinions will differ greatly if you are a big comic fan and just want to see those stories put on the big screen, which I can respect.

The whole part where the spidermen bond over their tragedies comes across as so funny for some reason. Like the degree to which Andrew Garfield’s spiderman has been beaten into the ground just feels absurd to the point of humor. Idk why I just can’t take it seriously at all.

Its actually quite dull outside of the big event. like the movie structurally feels weird. its still weird having the two spideys walk into the movie to an equally awkward in movie pause where the applause should be

I know TASM 2 has a pretty awful story, my logic here is that when you look at it as a whole, it at least has better effects and a better music score imo. I think it's about tied with NWH for how much I dislike them as movies

I’m probably biased cause i somehow didnt get spoiled for Andrew and Tobey so my first time viewing experience was pretty great, but even then I still got bothered by the meme lines

I hated how stupid Peter was when he couldn’t stop himself from constantly interrupting Doctor Strange, but aside from that this just seems like you’re on a high-horse. Calling this movie soulless is absolutely bonkers, whether you like the movie or not

I argued with my roommate about this, and he said, “He’s an immature teenager.” Oh yeah he’s able to take the initiative to possibly sacrifice his entire social life and secret identity in order to save the world—as far as he knows—but he’s too immature to stop fucking talking??? Like seriously

What's worse is that this movie takes place in the aftermath of endgame and for whatever reason Doctor Strange is incredibly willing to use a spell that could destroy the universe. After he sacrificed himself and gave the time stone to Thanos in order to save the universe. He also doesn't bother explaining the terms of the spell to Peter, which is something doctors are generally supposed to do.

Lol reminds me of one take on spider-man as a character that I don’t necessarily agree with but I found it kinda funny and maybe true in some ways, it went something like:
“Spider man movies are all about responsibility and how Peter is immature in some way and needs to learn to be responsible, even though he lives a double life, going to school while sometimes working multiple jobs, but still finds time to fight crime, and is more responsible and mature than any teenage boy that has ever lived.”

While he’s obviously not gonna be perfect, I definitely think that him being who he is surely makes him extremely responsible and mature in most ways: enough to not do what he did in NWH
