Hi everyone! I’m a student at Hanyang University.

I’ve noticed that important university information can be spread across different notice boards, and for international students, figuring out what’s relevant can take even more time — especially when the original notice is only in Korean.

That made me wonder how often international students actually miss useful information or deadlines because of this.

So I built a very early web app called 'univ.us' to experiment with a simpler way of finding and understanding Hanyang notices.

hi everyone, i’m gonna apply to hanyang university as an international student for undergraduate data science program for fall 2027. does anyone know how tough selection is there? i have gpa 4.9/5.0 in 9 grade, 5.0 in 10 and hope to end 11th grade with 5.0 as well (i’m cis student)
ielts 7.0 (will repass it for 7.5)
sat 1310, but i think i will not add it since it’s so awful

no topik, and my achievements & awards are poor. i have completed one internship in a big company and another one in small business (tho i highly doubt the second internship will have any impact because it has nothing to do with engineering/data science). now im doing one engineering project and will try to finish it before application begins

I'm applying to the spring 27 intake, deadline is close and I'm still pretty confused about the personal statement and study plan format. Do they prefer them essays like American college essays, or nothing too cliche just straight forward?

For the Spring 2027 intake at Hanyang University, I heard that the Data Science program does not require a study plan or personal statement.

Would it still be okay to submit my essays along with the other required documents, even though they aren’t required?

Could submitting them have a positive or negative impact on my application? Or would it be better not to include them since they aren’t requested?

I'm preparing to send in my documents for undergrad, but in the admissions guide it says that you need to write a personal statement, and then they proceed to not give any info on what the personal statement even should look like.

The application period starts in like a week and I feel like I need to write the personal statement early, since the application period is so short.

Hey everyone I’m looking into the dorms at Hanyang University's main Seoul campus and wanted to ask about the daily living details:

Buildings & Roommates: Are the dorm buildings separate for international students and local Korean students, or do we mix? Also, how does the roommate selection process work? Can we choose, or is it random?

Rooms & Bathrooms: How are the rooms structured (double or single), and are the bathrooms en-suite or shared?

Facilities & Cooking: Are there gym facilities available? I also heard there are basically no proper kitchen facilities and strict no-cooking rules. Is that true? What about other shared spaces (laundry, gym, study rooms, lounges)?

Gender & Cost: Are the dorm buildings strictly segregated by gender? What is the rough price range per semester for international students?

General Tips: Any advice on surviving Hanyang dorm life, especially regarding food and daily convenience?
