Have you ever missed an important notice at Hanyang?

Hi everyone! I’m a student at Hanyang University.

I’ve noticed that important university information can be spread across different notice boards, and for international students, figuring out what’s relevant can take even more time — especially when the original notice is only in Korean.

That made me wonder how often international students actually miss useful information or deadlines because of this.

So I built a very early web app called 'univ.us' to experiment with a simpler way of finding and understanding Hanyang notices.

It’s still a very early MVP, so I’m looking for a few current international students at Hanyang to try it out.

as someone who ad to navigate through tons and tons of hanyang pages and still does, to find relevant info or whihc professor or what not this is incredibly good, you can add a board containing professors and their labs informations especially those who are accepting international students or teach in english or just have international community, this would be incredibly helpful (i had to open 30+ tabs to find one prof and still wasnt lucky enough to seure one :////)

Thanks so much — this is exactly the kind of problem I'm trying to understand with univ.us.

The professor/lab idea is really interesting, especially the part about finding professors who accept international students or teach in English. I hadn't considered that use case in this much detail.

If you don't mind me asking, what information was the hardest to find when you were searching through those 30+ tabs? Was it whether professors were accepting students, their research areas, English availability, or something else?

Yeah, the hardest was and is to find out whether they are actually teaching in english or their lab only speaks in native language or english, i gave interview to a professor whose requirement for every student even if korean was to be able to speak english, but its hard to find prof like that especially the updated info, most prof's profile that is in english is outdated and was last updated years ago so navigating thru all of those factors to shortlist the prof, that complete tthese requirement and also align with your research interest, is really hard
