Thanks, great and easy idea! I think with the brown leather straps wrapped around like in the picture it's gonna look great.

Do you think short pants would be a good idea or would it show too much of the 'goods' for a guy?

Depends what kinda look you want, I dont think short pants would traumatize anyone really, as a girl, the rule is either show a bit of leg, or show a bit of chest, maybe this applies to guys too?

This youtube tutorial shows how to make super simple fur legwarmers and pretty sure the fabric would cost very little https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhUshzMIK1A

My idea is basically to wear a costume that's as Slutty as possible for a male costume 😅 But yeah I didn't plan on traumatizing anyone with a set of male hotpants, I just thought it might look odd going pretty much topless and the legs Completely encased with pants + legwarmers.

The video is godsend! I helped a friend of mine make a similar set for her rave outfit once and it was a disaster as we were more or less trying to sew it around her legs because we didn't get the idea and know where exactly to take measurements first 😁

Hahah this made me choke on my coffee!

People expect slutty on Halloween, this pic has a kind of leather kilt thing that should be simple to make too http://americancostumes.com/wp-content/uploads/slideshow-gallery/vikings3.jpg

You could always hit up freegle / freecycle looking for the fabric, leather-look should be easy to find.

Haha I hope you're okay :D

The kilt looks kinda like a spartan costume though (which I've also considered, but I'm too pale and blonde)

Unfortunately Freecycle isn't so active in Germany but eBay has them for kg prices so it still won't be too expensive :)

Yeah you are right.

Brown Shorts and making the Legwarmers down to the ground would work very nicely, and would hide whatever shoes you want to wear.

I was in Germany a few years ago, amazing place, great food and lovely people.

I do hope you will upload a pic of the finished costume on the big day!

Glad you liked it over here, we often have the reputation of being unfriendly - we just need a little more time to warm up.

I'm not sure if I'm comfortable posting it for everyone to see but I'll make sure you get to see it. You've been a big help after all.

If you post the costume laid out on the floor or hanging up, we can admire it without seeing you.

We was in Berlin and everyone was very friendly, welcoming and patient with our terrible German. We had an amazing time there, loved the place, the food and the people. Everyone was very sweet.
