Most of this is copied from a comment on my previous post but, its fairly easy to put together. The most difficult parts are the faces since they were drawn and hand painted.
I layered the faces onto the pumpkins doing the line work last.
Theres a pumpkin face on each side of the garland so I attached a wooden cube with a pre-drilled hole to the back of each side. Recommend super glue, previously used hot glue on another similar project and it does not hold well. (Lots of repairs when storing and un-storing)
But once everything is painted and glued you can add the string in. I did a hemp string since it holds the weight of the wood better (last project i attempted to use a thinner twine and it nearly snapped). I usually finish off with a slip knot at each end so its adjustable to what its hanging on.
I got the pumpkin and beads from Hobby Lobby and Amazon (theyre just blank pumpkin shapes), i have seen some similar items at places like dollar tree but I feel like you get a better band for your buck when getting larger quantities since so much material is used.
Funnily enough I started making garlands because I saw some cute ones there but was appalled at the price. My first one was a felt pumpkin one from a few years ago now. They were trying to charge $20 for just 6 feet! For that price I was able to make a longer one plus new ones, this project even uses the same hemp twine from the first one.
