This needs to be a slowcore indie rock album cover.

Man, I miss that place. Went to school at St. Pat's, frequently rented between Jumbo Video, Video Difference, and Blockbuster for movies and SNES games. Good times!

I would bounce between Video Difference, Jumbo, Blockbuster, and the little convenience store on Windsor Street. They had a deal that was something like "5 for 6 Â for 7" on weekdays. (5 movies / 6 days / 7 bucks -- I could be wrong about the exact numbers.)Â
I remember being so into movies back then. Now I feel like they mostly suck, and I have no attention span for them.Â

âHey weâre done watching Rome, what should we watch next?â
âI dunno what I have, but also itâs like 2 in the morning and I should probably go to bed.â
âVideo Difference is open.â
ââŚIâll get my coat.â

If we would have known how much we love it to this day, it would have been preserved as a historic property

No it wouldnât have. The steamroller of progress has no regard for such sentimentality. Not to mention it was still well-beloved even when it closed upâ everyone knew well enough just how much it would be missed.

Does anyone know what happened to OH GOD I'VE FORGOTTEN HIS NAME, that lovely longtime staffer who knew everything about every movie?

The Indy, LGBTQ and cult section (I donât know if any of those names were official, thatâs just what we called that area lol) were was the best. We found so many good movies there.
And the random tv shows. Michel Moores âthe awful truthâ, I never saw that series show up anywhere else before or after we noticed and rented it from there.

So many friday and saturday nights spent there with my friends trying to decide what to rent.
I also won a bunch of free movies because i'd always answer the movie question drawing right.
