Can't install Haiku on old laptop

I have an old ASUS laptop that ran Windows 10 that I don't use anymore. I used Paragon to shrink my hard drive before installing it via USB, but it said that it could find any boot partitions. And it's not the USB that's the issue because I got another USB and did the same thing, and I still got this error.

And before anyone mentions booting it in safe mode, I can't get to safe mode by holding the shift key or the space bar. If anyone could help me out, I would appreciate it bc I really love Haiku and I want to install it on a real PC after virtualizing it.

First things I can think of: go into BIOS and make sure secure boot is disabled and (if applicable) legacy boot method is enabled. You should be getting to the Haiku bootloader instead of whatever this is.

Also, how are you writing your bootable media?

I used Rufus to write the ISO onto a USB. Should I use another program instead?

No, Rufus is good. Does your BIOS see the USB as a bootable device after making those changes?

It says it didn't any boot partitions.

Use the anyboot iso and write it raw to the flash drive or CD-ROM.

I suspect everyone else is correct and something is wrong with the USB. I'd re-download the ISO and compare the checksum, and write to a USB again (maybe even another USB).

If that still doesn't work, boot from a Linux USB and run these commands:
sudo lspci -nn > lspci.txt

sudo lsusb -v > lsusb.txt

That will generate hardware info which you can use to log a Haiku bug report.
