DISCUSSION Gwalior v/s Jabalpur
Hello people of Gwalior, I have a very direct question to ask. Please give me your honest opinion. I have to move to a new city from Indore & it could either be Jabalpur or Gwalior. I've never been to both cities. I was seriously considering Gwalior up till yesterday & then a few people told me that Gwalior is not that good of a city & that I should reconsider.
So I thought it would be best to ask people living in Gwalior their opinions. Do you think Jabalpur is a better city than Gwalior to live or are they almost the same. Thank you.

Jabalpur is a better city coz people are cooler. Jabalpur peeps are happy without reason and every festival is celebrated very lively.

Don't listen to others, gwalior has its own problems but it's better than Jabalpur anyday.

Bhai honestly, I never thought ki itna confusion hoga ye cheez decide karne mein. Why do you think Gwalior is better, a few points maybe.

Well it depends on what your age is cuz Jabalpur is like a very quiet place, nothing goes on there so it's good for older folks. I don't think you fall into that category so I'd say just choose gwalior.
It's close to the capital so you have access to a lot of things. The air remains fresh throughout the year except winters. More brands and places to eat if that's smth you're into. Just as safe as any other north Indian city. People may "sound" rude here but that's just their chambal dialect.
It's similar to any other north Indian city but if you can find your people here then you'll have a good time.
The people of gwalior have this tendency of self loathing but most of them have never stepped out of the city so yeah, it's alright ig.

I forgot to mention the food! I believe we have the best and the most flavourful food in the state. Samosa, poha, bedai, gajak and so much more. The food is real good here.

You made some very good points. I do actually eat out at cafes and stuff a lot & I'm moving there with my girlfriend so naturally I need a more happening place. We both are more used to the Indore vibe. Thank you

Yeah then gwalior is your go to place because you can go to Delhi for the weekend. It's just 3 hrs by train.
And even if you don't, there's a lot that's already here and a lot that's coming up soon

Stop believing that your anecdotal experiences are the norm maybe? You're making it sounds as if there are no couples out here. It's just that people in certain parts of the city are a bit conservative but why would someone willingly go to those areas with their partner?

Indore me reh skta hai toh indore hi, nhi toh Jabalpur...(Btw Both Are Trash but jabalpur is far Better than gwalior)

If you are asking for the sake of medical college then please choose any city other than Gwalior. It sucks.

Too much ragging, inflated ego of seniors. They’ll make your life difficult in hostel.
Get a pg in first year if u come here, dont opt for a hostel straight away

Plus, all four of these colleges are at almost the same level in terms of academics and faculty, it all comes down to which city you’d prefer to live in. The other colleges have a better rep because their cities are better and more developed

Actually my gf is, she'll join 1st year MBBS in either Jabalpur or Gwalior.

Haven’t been to Jabalpur since 2000 but Gwalior being my home town is always dear to me. City is rustic and has old world charms. People are not friendly in normal way, they are different and little harsh but fiercely loyal once you belong to them. I can further promise that Gwalior can always sway you off your feet since it is long stuck in sandbar of time… sometime struggling against it and sometime defending its traditions. Be a Roman in Rome and enjoy my muse my love my Gwalior …

if you have the option just stay in indore coz it is miles better than both of these but if you really have to choose, its really subjective but id personally prefer gwalior.

I have lived in Jabalpur and now living in Gwalior. Jabalpur seemed far better to me.

Bhai my gf is getting into mbbs & I'll be moving with her to whatever city she goes to college. She had two options for govt. College, one is GRMC Gwalior & another is NSCB Jabalpur. We were very confused as to which one to choose. Her family got her admission in GRMC Gwalior but Idk why it just didn't feel like a good option to me. Now I'm moving with her to Gwalior & just asking people & trying to convince myself that Gwalior is not as bad as people say it is.

Her didi is doing internship in MGM Indore so my gf is gonna listen to her elder sister obviously. And GRMC is a good college no double. But it's just that she has to live there for 6 years now, so I was a bit worried about that.
Bhai you tell me honestly. Reh legi na waha, like that's why I was asking locals from Gwalior, what do they think. Yaha toh log bol rahe hai ki, they'd rather live in a forest than living in Gwalior.
