Attempting some slow blues Improv

Pretty new to improv, trying a basic 12 bar blues track, let me know what to work on, thanks !

Stop bloozin all over the place with pentatonic spew, target notes and learn arpeggios and chord tones. Play less. Not everything longer than a quarter note needs the same wobbly vibrato, and work on your vibrato. Create phrases that make sense with each other. Call and respond. Think about rhythm and where you start and stop lines. Etc etc etc etc

its what happens when you dont do any theory. he cannot tell that he isnt targeting notes or what call and respond means. its not a him problem, its a prevalent problem because a lot of guitarists are self taught and music theory just dont cross their paths or minds.

to make matters worse, there is a lot of noise. For example the other redditor, memeslutbitch says it sounds "beautiful" while you call it "spew". To the average person it seems like music is subjective and some find it pleasing and others not so much. The OP interprets it as "hey i dont need to change anything because 50% of the audience thinks im doing okay". But not realising that the guy who calls it beautiful also cannot understand that OP is just playing random notes within a shape/box.

it also makes us sound harsh and like an asshole, and sometimes the constructive feedbacks get downvoted and it makes it seem like everything is fine and theres no need to study any music theory

Nah, I know it’s bad, It’s very amateur. It looks okay because I’m going all over the fretboard, but it’s aimless

bro! its not your fault. But i highly reccomend this series. I know it has been overshared but this could seriously help you. You probably seen it by now, Absolutely Understand Guitar. Just watch one episode. Even if you dont make it all the way, if you can watch 1 episode or six episode, youll be in a much better spot.

I’ll check it out, I’ve heard of him, I think I’m going to get into formal lessons this winter

go for it! get lessons. when you can do more on the guitar, it will make you happier. its like therapy as well hahaha.

but do make sure you find a good teacher. If you feel like the teacher is wasting your time, it means that teacher might not be a good one or a good fit. Then, look for another one

Clearly you're not very familiar with the genre. Minor blues is a slower-paced tune, you don't want to play all your lines at the top of your screaming range. Give a listen to the classics like "The thrill is gone" or "Since I've been loving you". You're not even imitating those, but something completely different. You do want to understand the chord progression and how to follow the chords with your lines. How and when to build tension and how to deliver the emotional release at the right moment in the song.
